core materials, thus profiles and construction has changed. A factor why you're seeing a resurgence in these alternative shapes is that it's easier to reliably mass manufacture more thinner and narrower vertical strips. This lets designers fine tune the flex profiles even more.

GPT is great for chairs and cat/heli, but it’s way too thick and heavy for splitting. They ruin a perfectly good 3L piece with the heavy ass lining, not very good vents, and poor breathability. Honestly the least functional 3L Gore I’ve ever encountered.
