That Banked looks to have toned down mag, compared to the one I have.

Mervin warranty dept. are refusing to acknowledge the BC had changed, or that there is anything unusual about the one I have. "it's the same construction year over year and the board is supposed to have a stiff flex". I wasn't even fishing for a replacement, just wanting to find out which board I have.

I kinda respect that dogged unrelenting dedication to a rather minor issue. It's funny to me.

Like the minor issue being Mervin making the old Gnu Banked country, put the new graphic on it and then do An early release of the new shape/construction yet sell the old board..? False advertising.. Is this the minor issue you speak off?

Or the fact they lied to customers and even shops that have been carriyng Mervin for a very long time about it?

I still own Mervin boards, it just sucked that they decieved alot of People..
Just curious about what you think the minor issue is.. I might be wrong in interpretating you..

Yeah, they should at least offer a replacement. If you bought it on a CC you can dispute the charge with them. The CC company will then contact Mervin.

i don’t think Mervin is obligated to do anything in this situation, as the board was purchased as a “used” demo board, which was never intended for re-sale (even if the board was never ridden prior to purchase), and likely did not come with any warranty, either.

my guess is their warranty team is so obstinate here because those boards weren’t supposed to have been sold, so they’re holding to the company line that they weren’t.
midwest is best

Ah. Yeah. Idk that I read the situation how you did. And my comment was kind of compliment to you anyhow.

It sounded to me that a handful of preproduction or demo boards got into shops, who weren't supposed to sell them, but then took advantage of a situation and did.

So to me it sounds like the shops did the dirty. Not mervin.

Then mervin, who weren't paid for those demo boards by the shops, then faced having to warranty boards they made zero dollars on. Basically just send folks free product which they never should have had to do.

And to me, the fact that they sort of begrudgingly honored it would support that they knew you didn't do anything wrong and were caught in the middle, but also felt they got taken advantage of and didn't really want to, but ultimately did remedy it. Good on them? Bad on them?

But hey. Maybe I'm wrong. Other options exist. Maybe it was an unknown error. Or maybe mervin was fully culpable.

In any event, I was just thinking that I would have probably just been like whatever and let it go. Sometimes I do that even when I shouldn't I guess. Idk. More of a commentary on me than you.

Ignore my last post. I did not read that it was bought as used. Enjoy your board.
