I bump the hype.
I have owned/ridden most top response models from Unions, Nitros, Fluxes, Rome etc., still own the Burton X-base and Rome Katanas but I expect riding my Now Drives and Jones Apollo and frankensteining them at least 90 % of time this season. They have their flaws if someone really needs some extra adjustments but these posts about the connection to the board and just filtering out the negatives and boosting the positives without any different feel ‚like a skatetruck’ simply nail it.

Lol did not jump into this thread expecting to be a NOW love-fest, but Jones Mercury are my best binding I've ever owned. They're like 90% similar to the NOW Drive (same chassis, slightly less aggressive highback) with a better strap. Burton straps + hardware would be better, but the Jones stuff is now good enough that I leave them. I might like the Drive highback a haaaaair better, but those stock straps are awful.

Tool-less Kingpin is also nice bonus, albeit finnicky. Hopefully 2.0 addresses some of my complaints.

Has anyone spent some time on the new H3 hanger from Now/Jones? Any major noticable differences?

Just to break up the Now love, I am firmly a Burton EST binding convert. I love the interchangeability and parts availability but mostly the board feel. If I could get Genesis straps with smooth glide buckles I'd be really happy.

I’ve had all the hangers from the first IPO. The first one was a little unstable, to the point where I didn’t feel safe on softer bushings, a bit tight but otherwise ok, was large. Got some pressure points after riding alot. 2nd hanger in medium has no stability issue, but pressure points right away for me. I have a wide boot, size 9,5-10. 3rd hanger in medium feels perfect for me on stiffer boards, but I just have one Now now, rest are Burtons.

Sizing is different on H3, slightly better edge-to-edge power IMO.

I have a size 10 US boot. In H2 I was at the upper limit of size ranger, H3 I'm exactly in the middle. I don't need to offset my discs heelside and can ru lengthwise, so I get better stance width adjustments. I think the heelcup is a little wider as well.

On wide boards (my daily drivers last season were 266 and 269 mm waists), I noticed slightly faster edge-to-edge transfer between H2 Drives and H3 Mercury from bushings being closer to edge. Drives are supposed to be hair more responsive than Mercury, so difference might be even more pronounced than I perceived.

Don't sleep on the new Bataleon bindings. They're just Romes with better straps and the dual density footbeds are probably the dampest out there (even better than Nows IMO).

Good to know, Romes are ones I'm still wanting to try.

Love my Katanas. Also have the new Bataleon Astros and they're pretty inline with the Katana or D.O.D. depending on which baseplate you get. The Bataleons are cool because they offer each model in either the fullwrap or asymwrap baseplate.

Looks like I have to give NOW:s another chance. Maybe third time's a charm. The original IPOs had too narrow heel cups and I didn't like the straps and ratchets on Pilots (2018). Probably with Burton straps the Pilots would have been great with softer boards. With my Nitro Suprateam I wanted a more responsive binding.

Cartel X doesn't get in the way and lets me do what I want on a board, so I'm pretty happy with them.

Nitro Team Pro was also good, responsive binding. Tad narrower heel cup than Cartel X. Sold them to a friend in need, since I had 32 boots and those were a bit too tight. Now I'm back to B Ions, so I might try the Nitros again.
