Rome is firmly in that all mountain resort freestyle mindset, which I love. Still want to try a Ravine Select.

Maybe the Blur was their kind of fast groomer board before wide, tapered shapes took over that zone.

Rome doesn’t really offer a wider, stiffer, aggressive deck. I think the National was their stiffest board for awhile, it’s softer than a Custom IMO.

BUT I think their finished product has been great in recent years in terms of quality, they make fun “party” decks and awesome bindings. Kinda wish I kept the syndicate base Ravine now.
Bataleon and Lobster bindings are pretty much rebranded Rome but cheaper.
Lobster gives 5€/$ more discount so same? bindings are 105€/$ in price difference?

The Astro straps and footbeds are much better than the Rome equivalent. Rode them a few times last year.

Blur was the board I was ripping fast on groomers before I shifted to wide tapered shapes. So this is likely a fair assessment lol.

I agree with almost all the points raised here. Like the graphics. Although once in awhile there are some that are even quite good, most of them are not. Artifact Pro and Service Dog are the better ones from last year, but they probably aren't what I am looking for. And that plays a part when eventually choosing a board. Especially when I can't demo the boards, the feeling I get by looking at the board has an effect.

Why I am now interested in them has of course a little bit to do with the discounts, but also because they fall into that medium flexing resort freestyle category with camber, 8ish m sidecut, ww around 255-260 but not too wide. So for me they are not too narrow for what I am looking for from this board. But sure, they aren't really exciting and so it's harder to pull the trigger. And also that they have quite many similar boards.

Some new releases like Aeronaut or Alternator would be really fun options, but I haven't paid full price for a snowboard in over 20 years and I don't see them so much better that I would start now 😅 And of course twins or directional twins are available from most companies, but the same applies and also many are just too narrow

And again thanks for the comments! I will post a pic if I can make my mind to add something to the quiver

Rome if you’re reading this feel free to send me a few boards to persuade the loungers 😉

I had two Rome, my second board was a Rome Crail, it was basically an all mountain freeride board for intermediate riders.
It was a great board, directional, poppy tail, looong edge, good extruded base.
Then I got a Rome Agent, and actually I enjoyed also the graphic on that one. It was a fucking great board, that influenced me a lot on my current likings about sidecut. The only thing I didn't like was the edgehold, strangely the edges let go in normal condition ride (it was the cambered one).
Now they don't have any board that inspires me, in the lineup.

I feel like this is true for me with quite many boards in this category. Of course mostly because I am looking for a normal, predictable, cambered snowboard :D So good graphics would go long way.

And this might steer me to get something that is not exactly what I am looking for. For example I would really want to try Nitro Beast (157 is a mid wide) or T3, but as fun as they would they might be too stiff for the days I want something softer and easier for smaller features and tired legs.

Then of course something like Dancehaul or Dinghy could be more inspiring and different, but still playful freestyle deck, but totally different to what I think I want.

Speaking of which, I see that the 23/24 Nitro Pantera is almost 50% on Eric's Ski + Snow
