I can see why this is useful on Now bindings. Hard bushing and short screws makes it demanding to swap boards without it, and Tool-less is a plus I guess. Still like to bring a tool when I go boarding, and don’t see it as a big time saver.
It's, in my opinion, a super time saver. I have it for all my decks and am down to just two sets of actual bindings these days. After you ride your bindings for a bit it gets fairly easy to swap bindings.
Seconding that they're a time saver. Super easy to do it at home. Bit of a pain in the ass on the mountain, especially on snowy days, but still manageable and IMO easier than fiddling with 8 screws. @pow_hnd saw me do a full board swap on a moving cat at Baldface in a few minutes-- usually takes me ~30 seconds if I do it in the parking lot or at home.

Karakoram quick swap with the Quiver Connectors is easier and fast (like 10 seconds) and more compact (lays flat basically) but I hate the way Karakorams ride.

Probably my next sizeable expense on gear will be into some quick swap Nows. Swapping bindings and getting stances to transfer, finagling with snow in the inserts, on the ground in a parkinglot and such... not a super big deal for the few times it happens, but also... wouldn't it be nice to have that set on all my boards and just pop over the bindings. It's rad their design makes this possible.

Vanni wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 7:48 am Ok, just bought Now Drives 21/22, size M.
I have listened to your suggestions
I'm expecting to receive them this week

let's see if I can make them work for my boot size.
I suppose I have to change at least the toe straps, to make them work for size 7 boots; I have some Union toe straps that are much smaller than now and burton, so, let's see.
The next step, then, is to be able to center the binding on the board.
Please share your experience here, since I am size 7.5 in Burton boots and cannot figure out if size M in Now bindings will be able to be centered on the board of the baseplate will be too wide.
ok, received the Drives today.
It seems I can make them work.

I'll post pics tomorrow, it seems I can center my boots, and have the boots secured in the bindings, without having the toe strap slipping.
I mounted them pushing the bindings as forward as the disks allowed.

Speaking of the toe strap, it is probably the worst toe strap design ever. How can they make pass the tongue with the holes UNDER the toe strap, right in contact with the boot? However it's an easy fix, just unscrew it, and mount the tongue without slipping it on the inside.
The toe straps works better with smaller boots if you use the right toe strap on the left binding, and vice versa.
With a small boot as mine, you have to strap more or less on top of the boot, and not in front of the toe.

It seems also the Union toe straps on this binding aren't a much better fit. They are as big as the Now, and you can't mount correctly without changing the holed tongue.

can you fit the burton superfit toe straps 2.0 on top the boot or you have to use them only in front of the toe?
if they fit great even over the boot, I think if I can order the size S, I should be more than OK
Ok, I was able to test the Now Drives, a couple of days ago.
I rode only a couple of days since the beginning of the pandemic, so I don't have a fresh feeling of my Forces, but they are the bindings I spent the vast majority of time, since I started snowboarding.

I rode the Drive with medium bushings, and stock straps (didn't order Burton straps yet).
On board, I was able to almost center the boots, just 3 or 4 millimeters heel heavy. I think I was in the acceptable range, didn't notice anything wrong on the snow.
Response-wise they feel in the same ballpark of the Forces. I use a little bit of forward lean on both set of bindings and the Drives are quick putting the board on the edge, and going edge to edge. Quick but smooth, they don't feel rigid or harsh.
On the edge and when the snow condition were not perfect, I felt they were able to smooth out the ride, to damp vibrations.
They also felt light, and with a bigger footprint on the deck, compared to the Forces (for those that are looking for freestyle performance). The Forces are definitely more freestyle friendly.
I'm looking forward to ride them again, maybe with burton straps. I think I'll stick with medium bushings, for the next days, then we'll see.

I’ve got what they are currently calling the 2.0 and they are nothing like that. Basically the same as before with a little rubber gasket on one side.

This version didn't make it to production, unfortunately.

Bummer. The version in that catalog looked interesting, and worth an upgrade... probably a bit less finicky and easier to manage without the provided tool. I was excited to pick up a set. The production version that survived COVID looks basically the same as what I have (apparently with an added rubber gasket), and I wouldn't bother.

Yes exactly. Don’t bother. Especially because it’s $18 cad.
