Re: The Official CAPiTA Thread
Same here 18/-3 at ref, might bring my rear foot in a little as 23 inches is a tad wide for me. Will experiment and see what I like. A little more tail might be nice for switch riding

lol I fucking love you guys. “My new directional, tapered, setback freeride board that I have at 18/-3 feels funny riding switch and I don’t know why!”

Re: The Official CAPiTA Thread
that is a perfectly fair statement, but i'm coming from similar shapes for years with that stance (Deep Thinker 160 for example) that ride just fine switch without the characteristics i experienced yesterday. even my transition finder isn't as hooky feeling, which is a much more ridiculous freeride shape.
yeah it's not a twin with the rear ducked out more, but plenty easy to ride switch with these angles imo

Just razzin on you guys in good faith haha. Mainly it’s cope because my season is already done and I didn’t get to try the Aero haha.YukonCornelius wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 5:06 pm that is a perfectly fair statement, but i'm coming from similar shapes for years with that stance (Deep Thinker 160 for example) that ride just fine switch without the characteristics i experienced yesterday. even my transition finder isn't as hooky feeling, which is a much more ridiculous freeride shape.

I feel like the riders on here (including myself) know what's and up and how to ride switch; BUTYukonCornelius wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 2:27 pm Same here 18/-3 at ref, might bring my rear foot in a little as 23 inches is a tad wide for me. Yeah for sure.... I've ridden a bunch of directional decks that ride better switch though. But it can be done on the Aero, just an observation.
Re: The Official CAPiTA Thread
I think the same thing that makes the Aero rocket into turns natural stance is what makes switch weird. The progressive exit sidecut isn’t that crazy narrow, but feels odd transitioning with the large entry sidecut on the backend of the turn.
Makes sense with they way I perceive it’s turn. Not that aggressive to engage, then hooks aggressively when you get into the middle of the turn. Reversing that order (plus sidecut setback and shape setback) is bound to feel weird.
I don’t ride switch enough for it to bother me. Basically land switch, couple token turns, then back to regular.
