Often seems like a PITA... I think it's a facebook thing, somehow. I can try messaging an admin if you link me your profile?

If you’re responding to me, I wrote a whole wall of text after that sentence with other reasons why I didn’t like them. You StepOn bros are gettin all defensive with your eye roll emojis and sass anytime someone doesn’t like them haha.
This is why I did not respond to you. Also, did you notice I added "is the only problem"? Guess why? Hint - may have something to do with your post. Giving any step on advice is defensive because someone did not like them? I am not surprised actually, similar had happened also with other new and different stuff, for example fat bikes ~10 years ago

I think I'm in all the others, but also not the biggest cool guy group. I believe my results are more that my FB profile isn't in my name, so I probably look a bit sketch, but I don't want to give FB access to my personal info... so, Idk, what do I say to them... I'm a good dood, really, trust me bro?

The swath had the same liners as the photons, so i don't think it's a case of this B boot or that B boot. Maybe. But most boots just don't jive well with my feet. I grabbed a pair of vans verse over summer too and had to offload them due to discomfort. I don't think if anyone looked at my feet they'd think they were so very odd, though if anyone does want to take a peek...head over to my OF and use the code word 'glitternipples' for 1/2 off... but most higher end boots tend to have some very specific padding or cupping in the heels and somehow it's always wrong for me. Idk if my ankles are weirdly placed, or protrude more than most, or if it's that I'm 1/5 grey alien reject, but I've not found many viable options.

I think I have come to the conclusion that my regular bindings fit me exceptionally well, and that I can't grasp the difference between regular bindings and stepon for others.

Depends what you consider soft and also why you like soft boots. The interface itself is fairly stiff, but X bindings + ions is WAY stiffer than swath/photon soft (or even photon) boots + Genesis Step Ons.
I prob like my boots 3/10 for stiffness where I ride (east coast). Lots of ankle mobility, feels like I'm surfing. I imagine it'd be difficult for a myriad of reasons to make a soft step on boot, just like it's not possible to make soft ski boots.

Yeah, if I wasn't on a big mountain I could see that being more attractive. I'm a big fan of snowsurf style and I can still do that with my stiff setup, but I'm sure it would feel better softer.

The StepOn interface definitely tends to be stiffer than straps IMO, but the Swath or Photon Soft (or Photons after riding for some time) are MUCH softer than Ions. The Genesis bindings are also quite a bit "softer" feeling while not really being soft if that makes any sense. You definitely lose lateral flex (a benefit for hard charging, freeriding and some styles of carving), but a negative to the surfy japanese style.

I think that for you, something like FASE could be great although it won't be as time-saving/convenient as StepOn/Supermatic, it will be an improvement over standard setups for sure, with hopefully only upsides and no compromises.
