Captians log...
Re: Captians log...
Snowy Saturday & sunny Sunday
Re: Captians log...
A few days jibbing logs in the rain, one storm day then the best day of an otherwise sparse season.
We didn't film any of the best stuff as its a busy resort and everyone in Europe is extra hungry for pow this year so there was little time to waste fiddling with phones and cameras. Used a GoPro for the first time. Put it in my pocket after shooting one clip and just filmed the inside of my jacket until the battery died. We agreed we must try harder with filming each other from now on.
Secondary observation: the five year old Rome National handled it all; wet snow, slush, logs, pow, hot pow, fast, slow, steep, mellow, park, sidecountry. A touch of taper and a longer, smoother nose is all I would ask for.

Some end of day lines on the day of our annual banked slalom event in Ontario, two weekends ago. The big season ender event for the SB community/industry here. Unfortunately, we rode in consistent rain/freezing rain throughout the day, but still enjoyed it and is always the day I look forward to most during the season.
Wasn't able to get as many days this year w/ my toddler now and the missus back to work. Only managed to get 11 days this winter, but hoping to squeeze 1 or 2 more before the last resort shuts down for the season here.
Fellow EZ'er & friend @ad1105 makes a cameo at the end riding the new Café + .

Surprise mini pow day. Closing weekend in a couple days
Re: Captians log...
I had a nice couple of days in Whistler with the family, the weather and snow were all over the place but no lines and good times. We got socked in at the top of Peak Express before running Peak to Creek in the worst conditions ever!

Gotten out more than I anticipated this season. Baby turned out to be pretty easy after the first couple months, so my wife's been able to make due with me gone here and there.
Just wrapped up day 5. Mixed conditions of slushy and firm at Northstar. Fun spring day.
Finally put a Salomon Six Piece I picked up cheap through its paces. Wasn't the biggest fan, but gave me another lol moment with Angry Snowboarder. Bitches he can't carve it... took me about 3 runs to figure it out. The board was indeed a little lifeless, but I carved it fine once I put it up on edge, especially considering I was a 210 lb guy riding a 155 cm park board. I didn't love the board, but it was fine. I've ridden far worse.
Will hit at least one more day on slope, and I have a buddy's birthday thing at Mammoth planned July 4th weekend for some summer turns.

Re: Captians log...
How about that Space racer?
Re: Captians log...
He seems to like it. Midwest rider, normally on a variety of neversummer stuff in the freestyle range, styling grabs or chucking doublecats. If you've ever used the gear chat on the house, you've probably talked to Kyle
Quote, he says:
"Yo the space racer is a really versatile board in the mountains w a good snowfall of course. I rode it more than I thought I would. It’s fun edge to edge, taper on the nose just shovels through the snow w that swallow tail and rocker. The carbon stringers in the tail (they added more for the coming season) are super responsive making turns or popping around. The rocker is subtle. Although it’s a bit on the heavier side on the chair, it’s a cool breeze of a time."
In other words, haha
