Hertel rub on is ridiculously good. Last year at Baldface a guide came out with a brand new deck on day one that was slow as snot. I let him use it and he said it was the best rub on he’s ever tried, let him keep it. I always travel with it.

I didn't know Hertel had one. Hertel Hot Sauce is my go-to wax, so this is great.

My main issue with rub on wax is that it seems to last for 2 runs, and then I have to re-apply. Since you're recommending this, I assume it lasts the full day?

My experience has been yes, it’s much better than many paste “rub-ons” that only last two laps. This is much less paste like and much more like an actual ultra soft hard wax that you can actually rub on as an actual wax.

Also, I can’t stress how well Phantom works. It is a game changer. I still do it to all my decks.

Then wax as well because I like drinking beer and waxing.

Plenty of spots where I’m always passing the homies or I’m the only one to make it out of the long exit without having to skate at all.

I’ve been toting half a scotchbrite pad and a crayon-sized piece of 739 in my pocket. Absolutely does the trick when I get lazy.

keep the scotchbrite for spring. On Amazon I found a smooth fibertex pad that does the same as a cork, without being a cork in your pocket. Well, the scotchbrite isn't bad, the fine fibertex is a bit better as you don't take as much wax off the board.

For the post above regarding rubbing on only lasting 2 runs, the answer is to rub on, then cork it/scotchbrite or equivalent it. If using a cork you want to put some muscle into it and rub it hard until your base is squeaking. If it's spring you can then run a scotchbrite over it for a micro structure.

I shave half my sack. One side is the scotch pad one half is the cork. Bonus is that it's a bit warm and the wax goes on a bit easier.

I've talked to a few people (online and in person) who swear by it out here in Utah and also the PNW (soo essentially wet snow and dry snow). Yes, it seems to good to be true, but I spoke with the owner and he said to give it a shot and he would refund me if I wasn't satisfied.

He said that the majority of his customers are shops in the PNW, but he said that he has had very few people take him up on his guarantee.

You essentially clean the base, dry rub the applicator over the base, and brush in or use a rotobrush to speed up the process. He said it's good for 3 to 7 days depending on the conditions...

As someone who rarely waxes (in Utah), it has to be a big step up from that. Hard to believe that it could be as good or better than a hot wax, but I'm willing to give it a shot.
