@C.Fuzzy the heel problem even with the j-bars on, has always been my problem with B boots. that's why i'm happy with the infuse because they have a perfect fit for me. that's why i took so long to give in to the intrigue of SO and that's why i already have my infuse liner ready for the Swath that i've been waiting for two months. also according to @jsil the swath have a different fit than the other B boots...
C2 & purepop/vans infuse/skate tech/ AK …
there are, no bad snow

Re: The Step On thread
I like really soft boots. I dont think that's possible with StepOn
New York/Vermont
Re: The Step On thread
Depends what you consider soft and also why you like soft boots. The interface itself is fairly stiff, but X bindings + ions is WAY stiffer than swath/photon soft (or even photon) boots + Genesis Step Ons.

Re: The Step On thread
Rode mine all day today, didn’t care for them.
Got in and out of them fine, you can get out easily while riding if you twist your heel up and inward.
It’s hard to describe the way they feel. Mechanical but also sloppy? I definitely have heel play in mine. And yes, I’m fully clicked in and riding my normal/correct Burton boot size in these Photons.
Anyway, to me they feel like a step toward skiing and a step away from the board sports that inspire my snowboarding. I hate the total lack of lateral mobility and couldn’t care less that they have slightly better edge to edge response at the expense of it. My riding style is more slashy/buttery/freestyle than boarder cross and I love shadowfit if that says anything. To each their own, but I’m gonna sell mine for mucho profit and get back to muh straps.
On a positive note: I’m teaching my girlfriend to ride (she’s finally switching from skiing) and got her a pair, too. They’re great for both of us getting in and out of efficiently during her learning process.

For me Step Ons does not work at all without forward lean, but I can ride normal bindings without forward lean just fine. There is some sloppiness without forward lean. It is not a problem for me, as I prefer forward lean to be maxed out anyway.
So if "some sloppines" is the only problem, I recommend to try to add some forward lean.

Re: The Step On thread
If you’re responding to me, I wrote a whole wall of text after that sentence with other reasons why I didn’t like them. You StepOn bros are gettin all defensive with your eye roll emojis and sass anytime someone doesn’t like them haha.

You are a goofball that feels the need to defend a product because someone else doesn't like it? Have fun living with the knowledge that you are this kind of person.
