Yes they are. Seems like they have no inspiration left at the moment. Still love my Union bindings

Hearing that Burton is cancelling the Malavita and replacing it with a new model. Can anyone with the digital catalog confirm?

The Malavita is my favorite binding, wondering if I should stock up now or if the replacement will be just as good.

They are kinda rubbing the Vitas and Genesis against each other now, the main advantage for the Vitas is asym straps. There’s also Mission under Cartel in price, that mainly just have a softer strap, so I’m thinking there could be some fine tuning in the line. Would be better off if they did 3 different straps you could buy separate from the binding, but that might be too complicated for the average market.

Going with the mafia theme, they could just put asym straps on the Genesis and call them Malavita, then rename Mission to Freestyle X, since the Freestyle is sort of the longest running binding name in snowboarding (30 years)? Freestyle X would then have the better foam from Mission and asym straps, but the same base and the Clutch highback.
