Shorty is the closest choice re: super 8 & longer sidecut, but could look at the bowlrider too. Not sure if the smallest sizes are in your ballpark, though. Both strandas have a long nose rocker and lower camber, while the super 8 is more of a camber board.

Re: sick stick & derby, the Biru next year could be a good fit, if it's not too wide for you. Stranda only makes a couple shorter boards.

Now this is a beautiful board.

Right at first, the nose doesn't seem too different, but it definitely does have a little more resistance. You can feel it firm up before the purple one. The tip itself is still forgiving.

Not sure if it was planned, but more camber as well. Looks like the arc was pushed up vs the purple one, which then lowered the nose just a bit. The rocker starts maybe 2.5" later on the new one, at least according to my floor, which I believe is pretty flat. I wanna say the early rise in the tail is also slightly less. So, even if the flex were exactly the same, it would feel a little stronger from the profile alone. Only a test will tell, and luckily conditions have been great, so my return to Eaglecrest on Wednesday will be a good one.

Shorty is what I was looking at, but even the tree surfer looks like a board that could fit me, but actually as today there's no money for funny things so I think I will have to wait until next year.

Camber: New one is pushing 7mm, old one is 4mm max (like new, not ridden much, hasn't changed). Cheater is 11mm as advertised, and orbit is also 7mm for comparison (but I've ridden it a ton, and has bindings on, so probably a hair more normally)

Here are the transitions. Did it on the same spot on the floor, slid a postcard under the edge and stopped when it had resistance, same pressure each time. Difference is exactly 6cm when unweighted, and around 2cm on the tail. Nose rocker rolls back about the same when weighted.

Is it an optical illusion or is the sidecut at the nose different on the new one? It's also interesting to know where the effective edge starts when it's on edge.

Not sure, do you mean how it looks like the contact is almost slightly earlier? Similar slight difference on the tail, in that case new one looking a hair further back. I don't think that in particular is anything to think about, but I did notice

When really carving, you do engage most of its edge, but if gently turning/coasting on edge, not as much. The transitions are gradual too, so there's a blend zone happening, rather than an abrupt edge to rocker point. The tail rocker is super low, too, so that section should be engaged any time you're on edge
