I just received a new pair of Baron mitts, and they are different than my beloved ancient pair (destroyed by carving)
Both are size L, and the fit is the same, but the new pair is longer, as you can see.
They moved the stitched elastic area more on the wrist (the old pair was barely at the end of the palm), and it seems it has a longer cuff, but it's not the case, the cuff has the same length, but they increased only the length of the rest of the glove, to move the stitched elastic area upper in the wrist.
I think anyway I'll try to fix the old pair with an extra layer of leather or rubber, but I don't know if it works, I would like to make them the "carving" gloves pair

i was on a old pair for years. they died last winter. =I
realy liked the size/length/width of the cuff.
i take off my gloves alot during the day and they worked great for that =P
my Hestra Wakayama mitt has replaced them for this year.
i could probably go down a size in the wakayama though.

yes, I have yet to test them on the hills, and for me, the old version was super fine. I use the jacket over the gloves, so the shorter length was fine.
Let's see if the new version works the same, putting them under the jacket.

I’ve been looking at this one for cold days. Hope it works out. I got an Aclima long sleeve from a fishing shop. It was mega warm, for people who stand around in the cold for days waiting for fish I guess.
I prefer my Supermons over Aclima. Bit thinner and hoodless. Could cut of the hood tho but worried that I'll ruin it.

Anyone have a softshell mid layer jacket they really like?
Looking for something warm but breathable to wear under a shell. I was looking at Airblasters Beast Crux insulator.

I wear a Patagonia nano puff as a mid when it’s really cold. Works well, easy to move in, not bulky.

yep, I have a Patagonia nano puff as well. It works well, but I wouldn't say it's breathable, but they do make a vest version of it as well. Everything @SprockingCrail says.
