i remember reading somewhere that most board length measurements come from the core blanks size vs the final finished board.

but swallowtails always make things a little funky for measuring, ie itโ€™s based on where the โ€œtipโ€ of the tail would be without the swallow cutout, not the ends of the individual swallow wings.

none of my boards in recent memory have been the same when comparing actual/claimed length.

@coleslawed It could beโ€ฆ (and I'm sure you have better information than me on this) but it doesn't happen on any of my other 12 boards (all have the same size they say) and some have "moon tails?"... that strange measurement would be as if I were to say... not how tall I am but how tall I would be if I had fed better ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

If you measure from above none is the same, but have you measured the board below?

I think some measure the total length, some the normal distance from nose to tail, and some just miss or adjust or add a different finish or round up the numbers and donโ€™t really care. Rounded shapes can throw off a measurement by a little in design software too.

If you measure from the bottom it's always a bit longer

It depends on camber and thickness.

You mean curve and girth?

@C.Fuzzy @Snowdaddy For me, a few millimeters fall within the normal margins for everything you say... but 3cm... ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ It's the first time it happened to me on my 13 boards. In the end because it isnโ€™t important, and it was something curious, but I thought that in this that is at least "tangible" there would be a more defined criterion.. because now it seems the size of the boots... each one does what wantsโ€ฆ we would need a โ€œmondoโ€ size for the boards ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Thank you riders
