A Thread For Goggles
Re: A Thread For Goggles
I did buy a pair of Adidas goggles that have transition lenses adjusting to the sun, have yet to test them out. They go from Dark Purple to Yellow.

Responses so far are telling me I probably don't need Anon goggles. I've ridden with @pow_hnd and seen him swap out lens super quick on a Baldface cat-- but that's not a normal circumstance and I just don't think there's any situation I'd ever carry a replacement lens on me expect on pow days-- and on pow days I'm probably just going to carry an extra frame on me just in case I get overly whiteroom'd.
Re: A Thread For Goggles
I’d say this, magnetic lenses last longer as do the frames. Whether Smith Mag googles or Anon, the magnets just cause less wear. Prior to having magnetic lenses, no matter how careful I was, or the mounting system, lenses and frames would get tweaked after enough swaps.kimchi wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 10:32 pm Responses so far are telling me I probably don't need Anon goggles. Not so with the magnets. They just pop on into the correct place every time and there’s no wearing or tweaking of the mounting nubs or messing up the lens seals while trying to shoe horn the lens into the frame lip.
I personally, see that as their greatest advantage.
I also feel MFI is a game changer as well..

Re: A Thread For Goggles
I forgot about MFI, that's probably a bigger draw than magnetic lens swaps alone. I'll wait for one of my IO7s to die before I make a swap.
The other thing keeping me from pulling trigger is that I've never actually tried on an Anon Asian fit, not even the Burton flagships stock it. I've mentioned this in the past, but I have a weirdly difficult face to fit for goggles. Neither standard Western goggles or Asian goggles (whether "Asian fit" or from an actual Japanese company) seem to fit me.
In retrospect I probably should have tried on a set during one of my work trips to Japan. My office was <5 minute walk from the Burton Flagship in Harajuku.

Smith imprint? Kinda pricey but if you’ve never found a pair that fits it would be worth the cost imo

Re: A Thread For Goggles
with the last board order (Capita Kazu), the shop sent me a brand new goggle.
Never heard the brand: TSG
It's a german brand. They have few recognizeable snowboard name in the team.

they sent me the Goggle Four (https://www.ridetsg.com/shop/eyewear/go ... 54-90-102/), wich is an cylindrical oversized goggle, with magnetic lenses. They gave me two lenses, one for sunny condition and the other for bad weather.
They seem well made, and with a very good price, with all this tech.
are there anyone that knows the brand?
are there any good?
I guess I should try them on the hill, but usually I'm with an Airblaster Air Goggle, and I definitely don't have a large face, so I don't know I'll keep them (eventually I'm going to sell them locally).
Too bad they didn't send me the S version, for small to medium faces.

I remember TSG from back in my skate and BMX days. They made good helmets and pads back then. Not sure about their goggles, but the model you linked is the same as the Volcom Odysseys, 686 Smartys, etc. Just a generic goggle that someone in China makes and brands slap their logo on them.Vanni wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 6:59 am with the last board order (Capita Kazu), the shop sent me a brand new goggle.
