I had been there, in Kitzstheinhorn, many times many years ago.
Beautiful place, all Salzburg region is beautiful, worth a visit any time of year.
I've been boarding just on the glacier , usually in autumn or spring, never in winter, and always staying in Zell am see, on the lake, wich I did prefer because there's some more things to do, especially at night, Kaprun it's a nice village but many hotels and a lot of apres-ski.
The glacier is top, many freeride zones, I think 2 snowparks, I think there's even a pipe , not sure about that, in the last years there's no ski operation in summer, not enough snow and the glacier is really small, it's not as big as Thux or Solden, but in winter it's just enough to have fun.
I don't know about the other resort, Maiskogel, wich now I think is linked to Zell am see slopes, it's an interesting resort.
If you go there for a week or more it's worth to spend a couple days in Saalbach-Leogang ski circus, big resort, very famous in Austria, actually more because for the apres ski than the slopes

but it's a really big and nice place, lot of freeride routes.

aah good! have been to bad gastein many times and st anton once but think maybe there is something more promising on the glacier in kitz.
dont know how the snow keeps in 2000m as it seems all of those tops are max out at that height in zell and saalbach.

Are there any Euro loungers who have a bit of time and patience and can help me out with languages I don't speak? I'm looking for help with German and Italian mostly. Maybe Spanish too. PM if you wanna help a brother out!

Will be staying near Innsbruck 29.12.-4.1. and looking at Kuhtai, St. Christoph, Axamer Lizum, Pitztaler Gletscher etc.
Anyone been there and got any tips?

Axamer Lizum is my local resort, can't recommend it enough. Lots of great freeride spots easily accessible by lift or on foot from the top of the lift. Snow quality at the end of the year can be a hit & miss. Also on powder days students & powder people from Innsbruck rush on the mountain and it can be tracked pretty quickly. Try the Kaspressknödel at the Sunnalm! Delicious cheese "dumplings" either in soup or with salad.
Kühtai is also a 30 minutes drive by car from here. The bottom of the resort is at 2000m above sea level but the top is not that high, only 2520m. Expect long traversing slopes. There are also some good easily accessible off piste runs. Keep in mind that it can be windy and many times wind blows away the snow from the sunny side.
I can't say anything about the other two resorts.
