Rode the Aero on a pow day at Sugar Bowl today. Around a foot overnight, they measured 27" over the past couple days. Pretty consistently knee deep, hip deep in spots.

I wasn't planning on riding the Aero, but @SprockingCrail rode his and convince me to give it a shot. I brought my Instrument and probably would have preferred it-- but the Aero was shockingly dope in pow for a full camber board with only 5 mm of taper. Took me a little bit to find the balance point, I haven't ridden camber in pow in ~15 years and I cartwheeled 3 times on that first run. But I adjusted after a couple runs, and ultimately ended up comfortable enough that I didn't go back to the car for the Instrument at lunch. I wouldn't take the Aero out on a cat trip or super low angle accumulation, but the Aero's pretty shockingly versatile for me.

I rode it with Tacticals for the first time, and it definitely more aggressive than when riding the Acerras. Want to get it out on groomers on the Acerra, but definitely felt myself keeping an eye on grabbiness a little bit more than first couple times I rode it. Also something I adjusted to, and I'm curious to get it out on cleaner groomers.

It's such a dope deck. I haven't ridden anything else this season except 2 laps on a new-to-me Free Thinker... I could probably go rest of the season riding nothing else (although I probably won't lol). I could ride it in anything short of a low-angle nips deep pow day and I'd be fine.

I buy most boards used and don't go for new decks unless I'm confident I'll love them-- and even by that standard the Aero's exceeding expectations. I love the Instrument, I'd probably have ridden it a couple times if I had 15 days under my belt until instead of 3-- but it's sitting around unused so far and I'm not sure when I'll get out on it.

One more day on Aero. Solidified at this point as my favorite daily driver ever. I can ride this thing 95+% of days and I’d be fine. The K2 Instrument / Korua board template is fun right day, right resort when I can just rip deep long radius carves all day on open groomers… but Aero is more versatile across different terrain and conditions. Way more fun as a weekend warrior who needs to weave around a lot of tourists.

Such a ripper. Can track a straight line and still carve at higher speeds. Still mellow enough between the feet I don’t have to be “on” all times long as I’m paying attention. Fun on all types of turns.

My one complaint is she accelerates little slow… top line speed is fine but the WFO base on the Free Thinker accelerates way quicker same day, same conditions. Maybe needs a light tune to better suit Tahoe snowpack? I notice they upgraded the base material for 2025.

Pain in the ass for me to butter, but I suck at butters. I’ll take the groomer and sidehit performance.

Switch feel is pretty weird but doable, and not a big enough priority for me to dock it.

And stumbled across some pockets of heavier knee deep accumulation, does great long as terrain’s steep enough. Would prefer a pow board but I can make due on this in anything short of snorkel conditions.

I find the base on mine dries out a bit quick. But I’m with you on everything else, I like the aeronaut for when i want to shred hard and conditions are decent, and the mega merc for everything else.

I’ll probably buy another next year tbh.

recency bias certainly has the aero as my favorite of all time, as its tendencies and character fit my riding style to a T. i wonder how that opinion will hold up over this season and next. what a great great board... with this deck, my TF 54, and split, i have nearly everything covered aside from a softer park oriented machine in what i want in a quiver. maybe a DOA will fit that bill next year....

riding switch is getting more predictable the more i do it, but i am still getting rocked by it's hookiness once in a while and find myself face down in the snow but i'll get used to it eventually. i need to bring my rear foot in a tad as ref is too wide for me at 23 inches, so having a little more sidecut switch should be nice!

landing tricks on this thing though... just wow. even if you aren't bolts, it is very confidence inspiring.

on your latter point, i think if you were setback a little more than ref you would have no problem destroying any deep pow that isn't low angle. at ref, it handles everything fine up to knee deep like you are saying, at least from my experiences thus far, but i am lighter than you.

i need to go drop mine off for a base grind and it's initial wax, and curious to see how it will do after that. the acceleration is certainly not like a burton WFO base, those things are are rocketships. my DT will still get it's use but probably more early and late season at this point. the aero is better than it in every way

Panda Hover Core with Carbon Flax Amplifiers & Hyperdrive ADV XT Base...

If that doesn't shake the money right out of your wallet, idk what will.

Personally I'm going to wait for the Element 115 Extraterrestrial Radioactive Isotope Core, Horny Goat Weed Boosters with Grey UFO Jizz Glide Base.
