Y does Never Summer get so much hate over here? The boards are amazing and quality is superb....
Re: Hardgoods 24/25
Their fans have more to do with it than anything about the physical product itself.
And notoriously horrible graphics. A product can look so bad that it prevents you from being willing to spend your money on it, even if it's high quality.

Re: Hardgoods 24/25
I think it’s safe to say that most riders here prefer
1.) plain/simple graphics
2.) traditional camber/directional camber
3.) some sort of team presence
There is not one thing about NS that attracts me to their brand. Triple camber..or is it quad camber now?

Re: Hardgoods 24/25
Any company that doesn't offer some semblance of a regular camber profile across their line is basically off my list and not to be taken seriously. Combined with that Battle of the Brands bullshit where they threw an insane amount of shade and propaganda at Arbor that made me forever view them as petulant children. Plus, if you live in CO for any amount of time you'll just grow to hate Never Summer and their "presence" on every hill (usually a guy in a DOPE anorak with a 35L backpack blaring reggae and running you over with his octuple camber).
How could anyone look at this and want to give them money?

Almost as many options as Libeleveneightnate wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 7:05 am Any company that doesn't offer some semblance of a regular camber profile across their line is basically off my list and not to be taken seriously. "When I ride I wanna see a graphic of someone that smoked pcp or spice and cut the skin off their face and fed it to their dog looking back at me and smiling" - Someone at B?

Re: Hardgoods 24/25
It's horrible... someone in B was the one who was smoking although. I really think they are competing for the “coolest” design against the 2025 RIDE
C2 & purepop/vans infuse/skate tech/ AK …
there are, no bad snow

Quality of builds is good, yea, NS makes good stuff. The dismissals of NS are not really about that. And as said it's in part to the NS tribe of riders themselves, but it's also kind of that NS has fostered that whole "we're Colorado bro" fanaticism that those NS riders have. Maybe add into that the type of person they're appealing to with their guy fieri graphics. idk. (imo most brands do some weak shit in my eyes so that's kinda whatever). It use to be that whenever someone I knew moved to CO, it was like within a month they'd be riding a NS board and became sort of a stereotypical joke of people who we're NOT Colorado claiming to be Colorado.stephprime wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 1:36 amY does Never Summer get so much hate over here? But also they've taken weird shots singling out other companies in marketing, and in the past there's been some sus snowboard internet forum manipulations to give guys flow to spam their boards online, the historic weird lack of real pros on their 'team', and a few other things where in the minds of some snowboarders, NS has done that rubs them the wrong way and make them seem 'apart' from the core ethos of snowboarding.
But also, even when they make boards for other brands like Sims or Academy, etc. the ones they make don't seem to catch on too much here and that leads me to maybe a thought that the type of riders here are looking for different performance from their boards. But that's just sort of a speculative take.
When it comes down to what to spend money on it seems there's equally good or better options that don't have a giant Chicken Bro logo on em. fwiw.
