A little more snow for yesterday - ridge opened and we took some deep, light laps. A bit more snow for today, just rode inbounds and found a bunch of nice pockets, and a new tree cannon. ~3-5" coming overnight. Almost feel a little bad for posting this stuff.

Going to call it good on footage after tomorrow for my next edit, which is all pow from the last few weeks…

Man, I’m jealous. It’s crazy down here in WA, Mt Baker looks terrible and I can see why they had to move the LBS to next season. Looks like Stevens Pass fared a little better, 50/50 if I’m going to bother driving up to check tomorrow.

Saw another guy on a transition finder and we ended up saying hi later in the day and riding together. He and his buddy came up from Baker for our snow - said it's rough down there 😔

Day 3 at Sugar Bowl today on the Aero. Today was the best resort pow day I've had in at least 4 years, maybe 5. Around a foot overnight to play with, with probably another foot from the night before. SUPER light snow for Tahoe, as good as I've ridden in Utah, Japan, Interior BC, etc. I threw up some ridiculous rooster spray and panicked in the white room a couple times off drops. My legs are absolutely cooked and brain is fried after ~5 hours of sleep and a 7 hour round trip, but it was worth it.

Fun backstory too. Few weeks ago, @SprockingCrail randomly DMs me. Turns out he's an old riding buddy of mine I'd lost touch with... we connected via Sierra Snowboard back in the day and rode together a bunch at Northstar from 2007 - 2010, and did at least one trip together. We lost touch when I went off to grad school in the midwest for a few years and Sierra imploded.

Turns out he's still in the area and rides Sugar Bowl every weekend. I'm on Ikon, but decided to head to SB today. Stars just aligned: perfect little ~24 hour window between two storms for a day trip with decent roads and minimal risk of getting stuck in Tahoe, I had a hall pass from wife + toddler, I really didn't want to deal with traffic and aggro pow hounds at Palisades on a Saturday, so ponied up for the buddy pass rate. We caught up, made pow turns, and generally had a grand old time.

Might seal deal on me switching over to Sugar Bowl off Ikon soon. I love Palisades terrain, but they don't build shit for a park and Sugar Bowl saves me 20-30 minutes drive each way. Sugar Bowl has a way friendlier, chill vibe and is 85-90% as gnar.

Looks like Wolken & the Korua crew were just at Sugar Bowl this weekend.

a very fun weekend in summnit/eagle county!

went exploring with two skier bros friday afternoon after wrapping up work for the day with the dogs. have found some very cool terrain and look forward to doing some of the steeper pitches later in the season.

vail sat/sun was very fun, my body hurts. lots of sending, tomahawks, scorpions, laughs, and hollerin'

the aeronaut is becoming my favorite board of all time very quickly

Yeah, that was cool!

He was on an 07 or 08 JP grudge 54 that he's been holding onto since 09 or 10, brand new. He has a collection of mostly NOS stuff from that era, including a few forums.. has a thing for snowboard nostalgia and riding period-correct setups. Currently on the hunt for appropriate bindings for that board.

Last year we made a video on his 92 asym air w/ original sketchy bindings, hah
