All hail the Nike Kaiju.
I had a pair of Kaijus backstocked in the garage for years. I put less than 10 days on them, effectively just breaking them in, before I switched over to Thirtytwo TM-3s for the past ~10 years or whatever. Decided to break them out earlier this year and am once again disappointed that Nike got out of the game. Best boots I've ever ridden, by far.
Feel similar about Adidas. Those mega-corps don't give a fuck about snowboarding, but damned if they can't make solid footwear.
32s are just... disappointing my experience. I had a set of TM-2 XLTs ~5 years ago and had all sorts of issues with them. The liner tongue started to delam on both boots, the shell profile was enormous in every dimension, they were insanely heavy, they gave me massive blisters on the interior of boot heels, and I snapped like four D-rings on the shitty little power straps they come with before I replaced them with heavy-duty key rings. Plus their "32 days" reputation back in the day. I remember trying on a buddy's pair of Lashed circa 2007, they felt like absolute sloppy mush and he'd ridden them around 10 days at that point.

I never really had an issue with my TM-3s, but was also on a new pair every 1-2 seasons, so never really wore them into the ground. I still have a pair that I have in reserve, were my daily drivers for the past few seasons, but wanted to break out the Kaijus. I know there's been issues in the past and have heard the '32 days' moniker from some industry friends as well lol.
Kaiju fits my feet so well. Wider toe box with a narrow heel. They broke in to be pretty damn soft but still had a sense of support the way it wrapped your foot and leg. If they still made them I’m sure I’d be riding them.

Me too. Closest thing I've been able to find is the Salomon Lo-Fi (which has now been discontinued...).
Different feel, but I’ve found the new gen Infuse to be similar toe box volume and still enough taper towards the heel. Without the stiffeners they are comparable in flex
Question for those of you with new or recent Vans Infuse, Verse, etc. How is the fit? True to size or do they run small. It's been a few years since I've had or tried on any Vans, but I seem to remember they fit true to size A bit bulkier than Burton or Ride, but nothing like 32.

Anyway, thanks for any input!
I have the 1st Longo Infuse and I'd say that's pretty spot on, esp coming from B boots prior (Ion Leathers for multiple seasons, to be specific). Apparently VANS footprint is a little bigger than B's, but hard to notice w/ my size 8's on M Cartel X's, if I'm being honest. Both felt/looked about the same, imo.
~180lbs | 8US Vans Longo Infuse | B CartelX | Now Select Pro | Nitro Banker 56 | K2 Passport 54 & 57 | Burton SK 58 | ON

Snowboard width + board discussion, but maps best to boot threads here.
I'm really stoked on Lars' channel. Super bummed for a long time that the YouTube snowboard scene was dominated by Angry, Good Ride, and the likes of Buckhouse. Justaride and The Tribute Lounge have been breaths of fresh air with actual insight.
I wish these types of resources were available earlier. The rule Lars mentioned at the front half of this thread is basically where I ended up after 15 years of trial and error. My foot's about 278 mm, a hair under a US men's 10. His rule of mondo size minus 1 to 1.5 cm rule puts me at 263 - 268 cm waist. That's the exact range my prior 4 daily driver candidates were in, with the exception of Aero 161 at 259. Hell, I literally said a couple days ago my ideal waist width is 263 mm on the dot.
Reminds me of the Nidecker stance width video... basically where I ended up after 15+ years of trial and error.
