Re: Creature Comforts
Have you checked out Wells Lamont? Between the AK Tech mitten and these, I rarely wear anything else. Fairly priced, durable, comes in black.

The Vans Mid Slip Lodge whatever have been a staple too. Easy on and off, DWR, sole isn’t great for extended walking but I rarely do that. I’ve had mine for 2 seasons now, going on 3. Hosed them down with some waterproofing spray and still going strong.

Wearing something similar from TNF on the way home as we speak. So nice.

I've thought about grabbing the North Face version of that a few times at an outlet but never pull the trigger. I run warm and Tahoe is rarely THAT cold.
More often than not I'm in these suckers. They're stiff enough I still get decent driving feel on pedals, I can leave my socks on or go barefoot, and they're thick enough that they insulate from cold ground (my primary worry).

Ha. I have these same ones too. I definitely wear them to take the garbage out.
Another example of having camo shit without any real desire to have camo shit.

I'll run a liner glove under my mitts anytime temps get to teens or lower. None of my mitts are specifically made for liners, I just cram my hand in and all is good, and I have several pair of basic Dakine liner gloves. But whatever is clever.benjinyc wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 11:06 am any of you use pull over mitts? Kincos are my go-to for all temps, but there are days where I wish I had something warmer, before buying something I figured wearing pull-over mitts on top of them should suffice?
- sidenote, I wear Hanes cotton crew socks when I ride 90% of the time — mostly because the majority of my riding is during my lunch hour, so cold feet hasn't been an issue, I'll usually just do 4-5 runs and go back to my car. Cold feet doesn't bother me as much as damp/moist feet

Something about this gives me a bit of anxiety. Part of me thinks they would feel great like a good back crack. Part of me dislikes it like I dislike toe socks.Vanni wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 1:57 am post riding I wear toe separators under my shoes
