I’ve tested the Deepfake during a demo. Not my final take on the board - the flex is spot on but the specs for sure lie about 10 m sidecut. It must be a tiny part of the whole radius because overall it felt like 7 m.

That doesn't "look" like a long/straight radius at all, either. Visually my boards look more straight, all of which are (on paper) between 8.2-8.8. Interesting.

i'm guessing it's just a small section between the feet, too. felt very nimble to me when I demoed.
midwest is best

At least they nailed the graphic on that one. Ride's boards have very fugly for a while now.

Deepfake’s updated specs. That tight sidecut part was noticeable and dominant.

Why do Ride make the tip shapes so funny looking? The blend zone from side cut to nose just screams hooky. I know every brand wants to have their own look and popsicles got boring but at least there was a functional reason for smooth curves.

Exactly. This blend zone makes Ride board unrideable for me, i don't want any hook/catch at all in these spots. The DWD wizard stick and pow reaper shouldn't even be allowed on the market lol. Everyone should just copy Burton or Jones in this regard and stop experimenting, or at least if you're going to aggressively turn in from this spot for a wacky nose shape lift that contact point or something.

A few Capita boards are quite abrupt but it’s the ones with rocker in the tips.

The US Horizon from 2021 I’ve been riding this season has the same problem. In trying to make a short but pointy nose, it’s sketchy in pow or variable snow. Otherwise it’s a great all mountain board with a freestyle vibe. I can see on the new version they have smoothed this area out which has reduced the EE but makes for a better board overall.

the ride board names bug me: deep fake, shadow ban, algorhythm. It feels like when hashtags just came out and companies started using them in their adcopy to be trendy.
