the Launch, Echo, and Dialogue all look super solid.

would love some of the Echo design/features in a softer flex.
Echos look sweet for sure, but they apparently had some BOA issues with that first year (they made a lace version as well, though) and like you said, too stiff. I think these Dialogues will hit the sweet spot. Design and build quality of the new Salomons looks great.
What boa issues? Haven’t seen any so just wondering, because I have that year Echos. Don’t think it was the first batch though. They are a little stiffer, but not by much. If anything, I feel like the flex is a little uneven. Far from boots like Malamute and Driver X.
11 out of 16 reviews for them on Salomon's site report the lower BOA getting stuck and/or breaking: https://www.salomon.com/en-us/shop/prod ... olor=83719

Lots of similar reports on the usual websites, too. Two or three and I'd say it's a coincidence, but that's a lot of people reporting the exact same issue. Hopefully they ironed it out

Oh well, got em from Salomon mid season 23, so should be fine. I’ll just have remember to bring a knife and an extra pair of boots.

@kimchi you should try on the new '24 Dialogues. The 11w was too wide for me, but I tried the regular 11s and they actually fit pretty well. The toe box is roomy and they have a surprising amount of volume in them, more than my size 11 Imperials I spent the day riding in today. Heel hold feels decent, too, but I actually think I could go down to 10.5s and still get the width I need while locking down the heels even more. Build quality feels great on first impressions, love the reinforced toe cap.

Yeesh the stitching on late-era Adidas is so bad. The tongue on both boots on a set of Tactical Advs is falling apart.

Anyone got DIY repair tips for this before I just drop it off at a cobbler? I can't see the backside and it's hella thick so working in this section is a pain in the ass even with a sewing awl. And I'm guessing this is probably too high-stress an area to rely on just adhesives, especially in cold temps.

The boot otherwise feels fine and I can probably get another 20-30 days. I want to kill these before I break out the last of my Adidas reserve.

I got into the dialogues for this season after years in Nikes that finally turned to mush. I agree they have a bit more room than expected, but seem to be pretty snug in the heal/arch, and then a little more room in the forefoot, and a real wide toe box. I think that combo will be really comfortable when I get used to it. Picked up the 6mm remind insoles to take up a bit of room, and I always add J bars for heel hold.

Yeah, they feel great! I sent that pair back since they were a half size too big, but I'm definitely gonna snag a pair on sale after the season's over. Was real stoked on how they fit.

The toebox in dialogue feels tighter (lower) than the others, and theres a big difference from echo. I guess it’s mostly because the plastic is stiffer and thicker.

Enjoyed this and a few other series he's put out so far. I wish this video was out before I ordered an aftermarket intuition liner. I made the mistake of getting the MV instead of LV liner. This trip to panorama I'm going to see if I can exchange the liners at their store for the correct volume even though I'm out of the return window per policy. **fingers crossed**

I'm curious and want to experience first hand what he discussed.

All hail the Nike Kaiju.

I had a pair of Kaijus backstocked in the garage for years. I put less than 10 days on them, effectively just breaking them in, before I switched over to Thirtytwo TM-3s for the past ~10 years or whatever. Decided to break them out earlier this year and am once again disappointed that Nike got out of the game. Best boots I've ever ridden, by far.
