Irrelevant since I won't buy a new board for years, but I'm finding myself eyeing the current BSOD shape. Shape looks real promising, graphic is always sick on that board, and I've been hyped on Capita since listening to Blue Montgomery's Bomb Hole episode (probably my all-time favorite).

I haven't ridden a Capita since the 2015 BSOD. Still have bit of a bad taste in my mouth... unreasonably soft (rated 6.5, but legit more like a 4.5) and I broke it my first day out (in fairness I ollied onto a rock, but still hard to shake the Snap-ita vibes). That was pre-Mothership, so I probably should give them another shot at some point.

That was a weird year/time for the BSOD - I don’t think you’d experience any of those issues with a recent one.

Yeah three or four independent sources (including two of the biggest Capita fanboys I know) told me that particular generation of BSOD was bullshit and I just happened to buy a dud. But hard to shake that stigma for me. That's one of a handful of boards I've ridden ever that I actively disliked-- aside from breaking it, that nose was just stupid, stupid soft.

This episode got me looking back into Capita and was the instigator in me picking one up finally. This spiraled into a dab at collecting. I love the accessible side of Capita/c3 for the regular guy by the people who run it.

I’ve had Blue and Johan reply to some DMs, when does that ever happen in real life!!

Johan in particular was very proactive in the delam/sierra issue days back in 08ish. Jumping in to a thread on an Australian snow sports forum to help people out when they were sent boards by sierra that had been slated for recall.

One of my big quiver regrets was not grabbing the 1st year Mercury when I had the chance. Still my fave graphic for it, to date. One of my all time faves, come to think of it.

The one with the 3D-looking terrain topsheet? Loved that one and the '18 with the astronaut staring at the monolith thing.

RIP Ben Lynch.

I’ll be dedicating some side hits to BL and try to channel my inner Parker this week!
