Great to hear. Yeah, I want something in that daily driver realm that can carve, pop, and still float if I get some pow on a trip. Sounds like the Super 8 is right there.

I'd lean towards the Pro. At 5'8" 155 lbs I had the 154 back in 2018 or '19 and while I loved the shape I wanted more snap. Now that they make the pro I'm always thinking about picking one up. I would debate between the 154 and 157 Pro for myself, I don't feel it needs to be sized down like they recommend.

My brother is 5'11", 170 lbs give or take and he finds his 2019 157 on the softer side, but he still loves it. Very versatile board for him.
Great info! I'm your brother's size, maybe 5 pounds heavier, and deciding between the 57 vs 60. I'm thinking 57 in the Pro since it's supposed to be stiffer, but leaning toward the 60 if I go with the regular version.

The older twin Ultimate Ride has a scary pop from the edge and is the best true carving twin I’ve been on. The regular Assassin is simply a great playful all mountain freestyle board.

I had the first year Super 8 and although I really liked it in and out of pow I found the nose to be a bit too soft. I'm 6' and 165lbs and was on the 157. To be fair it was the first board I owned that wasn't stiff and full camber so I guess I was used to putting my weight on the front of the board at the start of a turn and it didn't like it. Otherwise it's a great deck and the shape is so nice. I would go 160 and/or the pro version for sure.

that's the board I'm picking for vacation. Easy to ride, great everywhere.
Definitely don't size down, check the size with the right width and sidecut and you should be fine.
I would go with the pro version.

Sounds like the Pro might fix that issue! I'm leaning 160 in the Pro now. I saw that Dirksen rides it in 163 and he's smaller than me.

FWIW I primarily ride K2 Instrument, which is a similar-ish deck-- tapered directional all-mountain freeride board marketed as a sorta short-fat to size down.

I didn't size down and am glad I didn't. I like having the full edge. If I was spinning more or ride firmer snow, I might have sized down for the narrower waist. But I preferred more edge and the more open sidecut.

What size Instrument are you on vs your "normal" twin resort board size?

I'm 6'. 210 lbs. I typically ride 162-164 for directional daily drivers and ride the Instrument in a 163.

Went for it. Hoping I got the right size, I just weighed myself and I’m at a healthy 180 these days so I’m thinking I’ll be alright haha.
