I am thinking about Stale Crewzer as a park/resort board. Something softer than Nitro Banker and less directional, but not a total noodle. And mostly camber. My second option is Capita Outsiders, which I think would be a safe bet.

Those are the options, since I can get both with a good discount.

Imo 4 boards is probably the optimized quiver. Though I have more than 4 boards, the additional are usually overlapping in some way and having less is missing something.

100%, I'm down to really just 3 decks as my quiver, 2 solids, a DD and Pow deck and then a split. I do have a few other decks and one that I ride as my first few days of the season rock deck, but once there's a decent amount of snow, just the 3 decks.

I agree that 3 is pretty good. Only took me a decade+ and thousands of dollars to come to that conclusion

3 being a twin, an all mtn, and a free ride ( all skewed to riders personal preference) + (for me) a split = 4.

for my 3 I'd have a directional twin, an directional carve / all mtn, and a pow oriented board.

For solids, my sweet spot is probably ~4.
  1. Rock board. Current Rome Blur.
  2. All-mountain FS deck. Something friendlier for the park, but that can still charge. Planning on picking up a Capita Aeronaut for this.
  3. Wide all-mountain charger deck. Something more attuned to wide, carving turns, but still manageable around the mountain. Currently a K2 Instrument, or a Korua might fit in here.
  4. Deep pow deck / change of pace carver. Currently splitting time between a Dupraz D1 6' and Moss Swallow 162.
Ideally 90% of days split on 2 and 3 depending on conditions or mood-- ideally less than that if I have the conditions to spend a lot of time on 4!

Reasonably I could probably get this down to 2 or even 1, but that's no fun.

my 3 are…
freeride deck for East Coast
freeride deck for West Coast (basically ^ but a little longer, bigger sidecut, stiffer)
splitboard

I have a few powder decks but lol, not enough powder where I live, and when I go somewhere steep/deep like Utah, I actually like my freeride full camber decks better than my powder boards

4 has been the magic number for me...but im always wanting to add another deck or 2 to the line up.

Right now its:
Rock board for early season / park - currently a mercury 155
All mountain deck - currently a mercury 157
Pow deck - spring break powder pill
splitboard - jones solution 158

for the all mountain deck, thats my primary resort board once the mountain is filled in. my mercury will need replacing soon and ive been considering an academy graduate, nitro alternator, lib tech jamie lynn / lib rig or gnu banked country. I like the jones decks but i dont know if id be happy with a mind expander as an all mountain board. hoping to demo one this yr.
