Bonus annoyance: Trying to puzzle multiple boards with bindings into the Thule to begin with. If anyone else is coming with me it tends to means I only get 1 put together set up.

Base down/bindings down/base down, 3x each side, mayyybe squeeze one more deck with bindings, or a flat deck under each side as a base (may or may not have had something close to this a season back in Montana. 6 dudes each bringing 2 decks to the hill each day. got real cozy.

I don't have the biggest Thule So while I can fit 3 adult boards with bindings mounted with the same fitting as you do, If I'm bringing other boards or splitboard gear, ect. ect. then sometimes it's going to be 2. I always have my emergency roadside kit up there too, which takes up a bit of room because I have a jack and tow straps and jumpers and tools, ect. I'm definitely a 'I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it' sort of guy and between camping / fishing / snowboarding, ect. I rarely takes it off. So, I'm thinking when I upgrade my whip I'll get an newer XL carrier, because as my kiddos boards are getting bigger already, it's becoming an ordeal.

Still not completely sold on the Nitro Squash 153.
I still have the older model, which is totally fine, a part of the base.
That sintered base doesn't seem to be of a good quality, the base sides turn white just after a day, which is disappointing, to me.
I had it tuned with a base grind and a base structure, but it still happen. I don't wanna wax the base every day or every two days.

With sintered bases from Capita, Burton, K2 and Salomon, I hadn't any issues, they were/are fast and kept wax for multiple days (5-7 days, usually).

So, right now I'm looking for a replacement board with these kind of specs:
mid stiff (around 7)
118-120 effective edge
250-255 waist
around 8 sidecut
Camber or early rise
a bit of taper is preferred, but not much, 5-10mm
15-20mm setback
and of course, with a good sintered base

This seems coming from an engineer, but I'm really not that

I'm around 135lbs, so I usually ride boards between 150 and 153.
I was looking at the Transition Finder, but the 150 has very little effective edge, and the 54 is too wide for my tiny 7US boots.

Fuck, it's easier to have this kind of specs on a twin jump board, then on a freeride/pow board

I have the first Nitro Squash, never had an issue with the base drying out. If I have any criticism with the board is that it's lost its flex, but it's also what, 5 seasons old for me now?

thoughts on the HPS - WOLLE NYVELT FISH, that might be worth looking into if you've had good experience with their boards. I like the K2 Instrument a lot, but it isn't setback as far as the Squash or Fish

Isn't the Wolle Fish a bit softer than the Squash and Instrument? I love the shape, but was under the impression that it's on the softer side.

The squash and instrument are in the middle for me in terms of flex, the squash being a tad softer. I have not been on the HPS Fish, but I imagine it'd be similar. Someone here has one. The squash and hps are also both biaxial glass, the instrument was triaxial (but looks like they changed it to something I'm unfamiliar with this season)

Are there any boards with that setback/taper, directional shape and camber profile with soft flex?, it seems an unlikely combo as it'd be a poor match.

The Rome Service Dog comes to mind. It was firmly in that 4/10 flex range when I rode it. Like a park board flex in a directional pow shape with 20mm of taper and setback. The Stalefish was the same shape last year just stiffer.

I had the baby blue first year Squash and hate myself sometimes for selling it, was a great board. I also have 7.5 boots, not that easy to find boards with smaller wws these days...

I was looking for something with similar specs, but a bit less directional nose/tail. Off the top of my head, these might work:
Korua Pencil - they added a 153 that looks nice from the specs
Amplid SG 53 - I had the 57 but that was too stiff for me
K2 Alchemist - prob 57 though for the sidecut, but might be too stiff
Stranda Shorty 59 - nose is very soft though & huge rocker section. I wish he would make a Shorty/Descender mix with slimmer waist
Tur Buteo 52 - might be too stiff
