I'm pretty sure if I had that Transmission, it'd be my daily driver here in New England... I still have a Cadet in plastic I'll see if I can swap

I really enjoyed carving on my Korua Cafe Racer last season so that'd be a fun board to try out this season

The Orbit is the stiffest deck I've ridden/owned, and the Transmish is stiffer?!?! Jheez, think the days of riding barn door planks are over for me now lol. But I don't doubt you'll rip with it, Spenser!

Orbit 57 felt twitchy compared to Tur Buteo 162. Gave barn door a face.

We'll see how stiff it actually is.

In that video they just look a little more carve-specific (the rise, profile & overall silhouette) than the orbit. I'm curious how this will go.

The stiffest board I've ridden was a fullbag blunt diamond 62, but it was a b-grade and I'm pretty sure it was a fluke. It was like an actual solid plank until you got out toward the nose contact, and then it was like 8/10 😂 the diamond blade was pretty stiff too. Fun carver though, but bad everywhere else due to BX shaping. It's about the same width as the transmission 59 (265/267), close in sidecut (8.7/8.5), but shorter edge (I think the blade was 137 vs TM59 124). Not trying to compare the ride, just thinking sizing & stiffness I've ridden before.

I'm just hoping I like it all around like the orbit. The TM looks far more all-mountain friendly than the blade, at least. Supposed to be here early/mid next week.

If I like the cheater in pow as much as I do, I'm pretty sure the transmission will work as a DD

She's here. First impressions compared to orbit: with a very scientific hand flex, you could simply say it feels like a new, unridden orbit. Mine doesn't feel like it's broken down virtually at all, but does have a lot of hours on it. Won't know until it's on snow, but certainly right in the same ballpark. Slightly stiffer tail. Hard to say overall, but it edges over the orbit either way. My guess is even if flex were identical, it would ride a bit stiffer due to full camber alone.

Laying them over each other, the silhouette difference is truly minuscule. Only thing I see from behind the orbit silhouette is the slight difference in tip shape sticking out. One of my only hesitations with the board was going slightly wider, granted we're talking 2mm per side... and I'm throwing that hesitation in the trash. Almost unnoticeable. Contact widths feel identical, but maybe the waist is a hair wider - which makes sense between an 8.2 & 8.5 radius, within otherwise nearly identical specs & shaping.

Transmission feels a hair lighter, but I will measure later. Personally I don't like "light" boards, and they feel extremely close in-hand, so all good. The orbit isn't "heavy," but it has meat.

Definitely full camber as opposed to early rise on the orbit, but the nose contact transition isn't abrupt, which I really like.

This thing looks fucking sick.

Orbit 57 is nearly dead-on at 7lb. Transmission 59 came in at 6lb 12oz, so a tiny 4oz difference.

This is 100% an orbit 2.0, slightly tweaked for a little boost on the carving end. The body is nearly indistinguishable when overlaid & running fingers down the sides of both boards. TM looks wider in photos and to the eye. Black is slimming, after all 😜

The Transmission aesthetic is very close to my fave shape, love the Orbit update. If it was livelier, I def would've considered one.

just noticed no 'deep-days' inserts on the Transmission (compared to the Orbit), They probably assumed people who buy this board have a quiver though
