yet another thing that was on the old EL was the multiple large delams on my optimistic and my documented repairs and me questioning the epoxy they were using before they came out and said they had a new 'stronger' epoxy. I think this would essentially be for all SAS brands? Idk. I hope the new formula is better, bc that old epoxy was a real fukkn' issue.

Yep. I had also a delam problem with Jackpot. Delaminating started when I hit some small rock, so it wasn't covered under warranty. It was about the fifth day with that board, so I am not really happy about it.

My opti was just standing upright and tipped over (no bindings) and delam'd about 4 inches off that alone. Then when I was fixing that I found an 8-10 inch delam on the opposite side.

I had no significant impacts on that board or really any riding that would have justified those issues. Do I put that board though it's paces, sure. But I've nothing more than other boards that have put up with a lot worse without any issue. No tabletop booters. No rails. No major impacts that are outside of what should be well within a boards abilities.

I never tried to warranty mine. I had got it on a sale that I figured they'd tall me to go kick rocks. Which, okay. But I was not at all surprised when they came out saying they had a new and improved epoxy. Obviously they had a real issue and knew it.

I just fukkn hope my Jones Split doesn't have issues. Bc I will likely feel differently if I can't trust it out in the BC. That's no place to be having an issue.

Well for whatever reason (possibly because we get our own production run for the aus/nz stock) that we have honestly not had many delam issues here over the years with YES. (as I have distributed the brand here since it started). Feeling thankful for ALL that.
But as we all know, there are lots of factors at play with manufacturing snowboards, so occasionally there can be curveballs.

Got mine from Darkside in Vermont. It's really my favorite board for the past few seasons just to add color to the fact that I really don't want to be negative on Yes. I've had many Yes boards, several of the early Greats, several 420's, a handsign, a typo, they've all been rad and I'll claim responsibility for all the damage done to those boards... all performed as expected. However, the Opti issue I can't really claim as my fault as I've mainly only ran it as a pow and carving board. I'm not a big guy so it's not even that. And because I want to get more riding out of it I'm hoping the delams don't continue to mount.

One thing that ensures I won't be buying a YES board is the minimum stance width. Either my stubby legs are a huge anomaly or YES designers are stuck in the 90s/early 2000s when everybody rocked 23"+ stances. The Pyzel 55w and 58 both have a minimum reference stance width of 20.9". Call it 21". While I can ride 21" comfortably, that gives me no room to move around on the sidecut. Same goes for the PYL Uninc. It's too bad, I'd like to try them out.
