If this is a thing, don't know how I never came across it.

Yeah, odd. Replace the lenses and I'll gladly scrap these, but no need to waste the whole thing.

I'm probably going to run the red lens through the end of the season since it works well enough, and then go through with warranty.

I had a warranty with Smith a couple of seasons back and they issued the credit and then I was meant to cut the strap, scratch the lens and send them a photo

yeah, it’s mostly boards that we’ve had to field destroy. one that really bummed me this year was a Salomon Taka Split that was damaged in shipping (just some scuffs on the edge) and missing it’s skins, and they made us drill out both sides of the split.
midwest is best

So wasteful, though I can understand it for certain situations. A compromised helmet, for example, or a board that was beyond usability.

Most board warranties I dealt with were Mervin, all significant delams. Never had to send anything back, just replaced. Same with Jones/Tunisia nidecker factory - they had a rough production year in 2013 I think.. couple backward graphics, a slash straight had the profile pressed backward, and some improperly finished inserts that couldn't take a screw. All brand new, just replaced, didn't have to send back.

I'm not worried about the goggle thing, guess I had just never heard of that approach. Hopefully like @scrub, I can get them to issue a credit before I have to "destroy" them 😜

I warrantied a set of IO/7s last year. They gave me a store credit and asked me to cut the strap but I never did. Still have my I/o7 as a dedicated bluebird day goggle. I ended up getting the I/o mag but they fogged worse than any goggle I've ever owned and I ended up selling them and got some Airblasters

No damage to foam, and nothing happened differently at all. Strange coincidence. I'm pretty sure I heard this isn't exactly uncommon with their lenses eventually, but who knows. Hopefully they are willing to do some kind of warranty. The red at least is still workable, but storm is unusable.
Ah shit. Coincidentally, I bought a brand new 2023 Squad XL this year and gave it to my brother for a trip and he had continuous fogging issues with the storm rose. I couldn't understand what was going on since I love mine and never have any problems. We thought it might just be a fit or perspiration issue due to hiking but I'm bummed to read it could be defective and they didn't cover much in your case.

Still working on that. Their warranty replies so far have been "stock" or automated - they didn't actually address my claim for both lenses. The initial reply was for a voucher to get a new goggle set, but that doesn't address my situation and is also unnecessary… their reply to that was with a new voucher for a lower amount, to cover one lens instead of having to destroy the goggle, again without addressing my explanation that both are compromised. So, we'll see...

Until this recent stuff, they had been flawless. I'm constantly in wet conditions, I hike often, etc and no fog. They still don't fog on the inner lens surface, just between the panes - so it has nothing to do with the antifog coating - some kind of defect/issue with the seal, I assume.
