I'm curious about this as well. I had a Surfari 157 and didn't love it, for my style it rode stiffer than I like. It wasn't a bad board by any means but after selling it I kinda forgot about Amplid overall, but looking at the SG again it seems like it could be a great daily for me. @G.D. care to chime in with thoughts about the SG in general?

The original Surfari was a great board... Light and playful at the right spots and great for carving. Then they changed manufacurers. From Mothership to i cant remember to Playmaker... Havent ridden the latest versions but "season 2 and 3" of this board were so different to the first one. So much stiffer and heavier.

Yeah I had the first version of the 8m sidecut Surfari, 19-21 I believe. It definitely fell onto the "charging" end of the spectrum for my style and weight. My current OG TF54 is downright playful in comparison. I'm still interested in the SG 157 though, based on some opinions I've read that it's softer lengthwise and especially torsionally than the Surfari.

Haven't ridden the Surfari, but the SG is my current DD still. It's at the ~7/10 flex range I mainly prefer. Stable at greater speeds when you push it, but not barn-door like either. The sidecut is great for long drawn out turns and shorter/medium ones, also. Tail is super stable and stiff enough for when I pop off lips, either natural or man-made. And for landing, as well. I'd say its a touch less stiffer than the popular Koruas in the og line, and a hint more lively than the former, as well. The 57 is my sweet spot for length, so just ticks all the boxes for me. Handled Whis & Seymour so well, and equally our much smaller local hills. Managed to get my best personal times at our yearly end of season Banked Slalom here on it, as well.

Solid deck overall that does everything I want it to, very well. Highly recommend it if those things sound appealing to you, and/or have a chance to get your hands on one.
