Re: Stranda Snowboards
@Snowdaddy has ridden the Tree Surfer and Bowlrider.
Re: Stranda Snowboards
Lars says:
"It’s the same profile as Shorty. Definitely upsize. Board rides small. Tighter radius in the tail and overall tighter than Shorty makes for a more nimble, less freeride inspired board. Super stabile. The nose will never let you down in bad conditions. Amazing float. Carves very well, too."
Shorty profile is low camber through most of the tail (tiny bit of early rise at the contact point) and camber extends just past the front foot, after which it has a long, gradual rocker. The flex should be similar - nice stabile backbone (rear 2/3 of board) and the nose is more forgiving. Keep in mind Lars is pretty light, but a powerful rider. As usual your weight & riding style will affect the way it feels

New shorty is on the way
Unfortunately not in time for my trip, but something to look forward to when I get home

Re: Stranda Snowboards
I've tried the Tree Surfer. Big flappy nose and really nice edge hold. It has a surprisingly long edge. Stiff enough to carve but not so stiff it's a chore to ride. I personally liked it more than the Bowlrider. I'm not a fan of the nose shape myself, but I can see how it works.
My favorite Strandas are the Tree Surfer and the Shorty. If you can live with the nose it's an awesome board. I could own it just to hang it on the wall because of its finish.
Edit: And it's damp. Swallows most everything.
Re: Stranda Snowboards
Very interested in the Tree surfer, Bowlrider and Biru and shorty..
How do they compare to the Fullbag blunt diamond @spenser? Should never have sold my BD!

Re: Stranda Snowboards
All will be better carvers than the blunt IMO
All very smooth & calm
All good float, TS/shorty/blunt being excellent
Blunt has the most bomber/stiffest nose, as fullbags do - but all strandas have enough "meat," and their own way of being stabile/powerful
Shorty - most freeride temperament (larger sidecut, etc)
Blunt/Tree Surfer - most "surfy" & slashy
Bowlrider/Biru - most "all mountain" including switch/freestyle
All very smooth & calm

Peter Vinter wins Baker LBS grand masters on a descender. A few others did really well on strandas too.
Re: Stranda Snowboards
I was goin to post this on salomon topic but the question is mainly about stranda: in the last days on snow I went back on super 8 160, it's definitely my board, great for carving but the flex it's not that stiff so you can play with it if you want and it's enough forgiving when you jump of something and floats great in pow......but the Stranda boards really tempt me, looks like boards well made that gives you a lot of quality for the price....what kind of model do I have to look at? Usually I use the super 8 , but I like a lot also the derby/sick stick 151, I can handle stiffer boards but I don't really love it, I prefer medium to medium stiff, I don't pay much attention to the sidecut as long as it works good, but I prefer longer sidecut.
