Whoa. Those Freecarver shapes looks bonkers for mass produced snowboards. Don't know if any major company other than Nidecker proper has brought that style of carving board to US market in like 20+ years... and Nidecker proper's board footprint in the US is super small. Those look more like something I'd expect in Europe or Japan.

I’m wondering about the waist widths on the Freecarvers. Are they going to be wide enough for moderate angles like a boadercross setup, or are they going to be a bit narrower and force steeper angles and a narrower stance like a race board.

Has the Jones catalog been posted anywhere?

Found the sizes. Especially not being "long" on paper and considering current trends, I'm sure they're wider. Basically a much bigger board in a compact overall length for softboot carving.

Nice find on the sizes. Most of the boards I’ve used to really rip on groomers in the last few years have had sidecuts in between the two freecarver options. I think the 9m might be the one for me.

Yeah that Hover 2.0 is almost identical in shape to the Amplid proto I've been riding (vid below), only without the jiggyjaggy "edgetech." Also Hover's always had a 9+m sidecut which this Amplid definitely does not have.

I like my Stormchaser for futsin' around sometimes but otherwise Jones boards leave me meh generally.
(Coincidently, buddy behind me in this video is on a Stormchaser haha)

If the made it 12 m I’d seriously consider buying it before the end of the season sales.

Spenser wrote: Sun Jan 15, 2023 5:05 pm The tip/tail aesthetic is what makes it seem that way. Otherwise they're just slightly directional camber boards with short kicks, so extra edge per size. Most people wouldn't buy a "long" board to get the extra edge, so these shapes can reach more riders interested in "advanced" carving... and all I really mean by that is not gimmicky instagram crap, hah. But I'm sure that will still be prevalent.

IMO the best carving board they've made is the pre-3D hovercraft. You could easily just chop the nose kick down and call it the freecarver, and that's basically what it was - a carving/race board with a powder nose.

Can't think of "major" brands, but there's the fullbag diamond blade, kinda endeavor alpha, and korua bullet train would be in that category too. You could even include the cheater, but they don't come in short sizes. Which nidecker are you thinking of?
There's the Blade from Nidecker.
