All this boot talk has really made me think about boots and the demise of the T-Rice boot, I found one set and ordered them two days ago, so now two set of backups...

But this morning, the over thinking brain of mine jumped on eBay and found a few more sets for sale and just ordered two more pairs.

So now I'll have 4 sets of T-Rice waiting in the wings. Should be set for about 20 years, seeing as I have dedicated splitboard boots now these days.

So is Travis off dc? Is that old news?

Good to hear DC holds their flex well, so we'll see about these. I usually do like about an 8/10 that breaks in and lives at a 7. These were pretty firm right out of the box, but after a couple folds and wearing them a while, they feel on par with my new ion shells that aren't broken in yet.

lol someone went ham on the old Sierra Trading Post. I've considering do the same.

They still have size 10s. I have probably ~40 days left on my current set of Tactical Advs, a brand new set of Tactical Lexicons, and a very lightly used set of older Acerras I found on Fb Marketplace. At my pre-baby rate of riding that's probably 5-6 seasons worth of boots, my new reality will probably end up north 10+ (probably more than that even, since I have a separate set of splitboard boots).

So REASONABLY I shouldn't do it but I'm still tempted AF because I probably won't find more pairs and I'm gambling on some other company making a boot that accommodates my foot without dropping a few hundred dollars to a crusty old ski boot fitter lol.

Has anybody tried newer Ride boots? They're one of the few brands I haven't tried yet. Been scoping these out: https://ridesnowboards.com/en-us/p/dead ... oard-boots

They claim "In2grated construction creates the lightest weight, shortest length performance boots on the market, hands down."

If they have a secure heel, roomy toe box, and are truly the "shortest length" like they claim, I might have to check them out. And "Deadbolt" is my favorite Thrice song, obviously.

Ride sole reduction is maybe best in class. Was shocked they rivaled Adidas. Was messing around with grabbing some Lassos, wasn’t feeling BOA and not quite wide enough for me. I’m considering grabbing some Fuse hoots and investing in boot fitting… I think I could get them to work with some shell manipulation to get a bit more forefoot width.

Good to know. Have a few shops here that carry them, so I’ll go scope them out.

I have the Fuse from 2 years ago. The fit is really good. Semi-wide in the front and narrow in the heel/ankle. The whole boot is low profile compared to most other manufacturers which is both good and bad. It makes them feel nice and light but they are not very warm or protective feeling if that makes sense. The hard plastic tongue and backstay keep the flex from breaking down too much but the overall durability is average. Mine have maybe 60-70 days and one of the tongues has come off.
