Captians log...

Looks great!
Day 1 here too. Deeper than I thought. Splitting next time.

It's so good to see and feel the stoke of riding again! Rode the opener Thursday and then again Friday. Best opener around here in a bit!
Re: Captians log...
Turned into a slow start here. Lots of rain after I got that one pow run a month ago, but cold came back and snow forecast looks like upper mountain could do a limited opening in a week or two. Bunny hill opened this weekend, which is just a "learning area," but it's something. Cadet saturday, but switched to orbit today and it was so much better. Cadet edges are pretty beat, for one.
Hiked up with a couple friends to a summer bike course feature during sundown, filmed a few clips. This guy Kyle is a midwest rider, has been working a couple summers here, and is staying this winter. Should be fun!

the remnants of the storm we had here in mid november is all gone, (55Fº and rain will do that in sVermont) so just booked a last min trip to SLC

Copper just keeps getting dumped on and nobody rides the trees... endless freshies. Side note: Mind Expander Twin is pretty meh. Least damp board I've had in a while, heavy as fuck, and just lacks the loose, slashy, "surfy" personality they market it as having.

Good looking board, at least?

Got a fun sesh in at the local epic owned, no crowds and tried out my 159 pencil with o-drives and acerras. Worked pretty well, but it's gonna take a lil work coming from mostly less demanding twins/directional twins so far this year. The baby does kill on black and blue corduroy and tracked chop...
Also brought my 154 B.O.D. with contact pros on the hunt for side hits. Super fun board, thought about getting rid of it but super nimble and buttery.

I'm on the plane flying back from SLC and a successful strike mission. big storm hit BCC/LCC and I was able to enjoy some epic powder runs yesterday and today (Snowbird/Solitude). Took the Gentemstick Stingray and Burton Fish 3D, both were great, I would have been fine with the Gentem for this trip, for steep terrain like where I rode, cambered directional board will be more than fun here. On flatter terrain (like where I live) I'd pick the Fish.
sadly, a skier passed away at Solitude, his body was found this morning in some trees. I had a beacon on me for this trip, ever since the accident a few years ago in Taos (I was there the week of), I'll have that on me anytime there's been a decent storm. Most of my trips have been solo, so kinda processing this one since this guy was out alone too

ran into Sage, Mike Rav, Gimbal God, Blake Paul, and a few others in sidecountry in brighton and proceeded to watch a laid out backflip party. fun times, can't wait to get back
edit: i rode with my beacon on the whole trip and was with 2 others, was sketch out there. gotta be careful riding solo, quite a sobering news story...
saw S&R out early in the morning yesterday, sad stuff.
