I like them both, very different and both have their pluses and minuses, it pretty much comes down to what you're looking for and sometimes for me it depends of the environment/terrain I'm going to be in.
I ride mellow slopes 90% of the time, I’m just out there for the pow slashes I do absolutely no mountaineering type shit. I ride a few big lines a year, but even then it’s in pow. I feel these are gonna ride great on that type ( mellow ) terrain.

I actually have Burton Freestyle bindings on my pow split, really comfy. Wish someone made plates for normal bindings as good as the old Burton system, minus the flaws.

Getting the "toe ramp" in the right position and putting pads on really helped for the Sparks, though I did need large baseplate/medium heelcup to make it comfy.

After adjusting the Unions a little bit more and then adjusting the phantom hooks I can honestly say I’ve never had a Splitboard with this tight of a connection, the closest was a Venture, which was, at the time, head and shoulders above any other split I had previously owned, but that was still back in like 2012 and it was running the old Voile hooks.

This thing is tight, literally.

The Unions really do suck the board together.

Post says it's a handmade personal project, that most likely won't be produced. But it's a nice concept.

It's a Burton Tourist, with a custom made sole and new lacing eyelets/cleats.

You can see the tourist stretch panels on the back.

from @scrub a few pages back:
I sent that boot thing to my Swedish friend and here is what he had to say:

Well that’s just Jonte being Jonte I guess, he’s resoled at least one pair of my Lundhags boots!
(He’s also an ex international boarder cross pro…)

I know this is a true one-off project he wanted to make for a couple of years. He’s tried hardboots for split boarding but didn’t like the ride feel, so he set out to build his own soft boots with fittings for tech bindings in the toes. To reap all the benefits of not having to strap into your bindings on the way up!

Translated for your pleasure:
"Jonte @jontegrundelius is a shoemaker at @lundhags but also a die-hard snowboard guy with a past as an international boardercross rider. A fairly natural challenge for Jonte in shoemaking was to build his own snowboard boot, completely custom made. The result was a very stylish and functional snowboard boot in Lundhags packaging. In a single existing pair.

It is built like a regular Lundhags shell boot that I combined and built together with an old snowboard boot, says Jonte. It is built with the same technology as a regular Lundhags three-layer boot but with a slightly stiffer padding material that is combined with some parts from an old snowboard boot.
Jonte has stiffened the cellular rubber bottom and used burlap to make it harder (that is usually the material that Lundhags uses in the back covers of the single-layer boots.) He has also built the boot with a soft binding sole to get a little softer cushioning for jumps and landings with the board. The shoe also has a completely new sole that will not be on the market until Tived, a completely new boot that will come in the spring…!

Another unique thing about the shoe is that it is built for tech bindings so that you can easily walk without having to fiddle with the binding itself.

Yes, that was one of the driving forces, to get a snowboard boot that works well for a tech binding, that doesn’t exist today. The other reason was to get a boot that lasts, and that can maintain its stiffness longer, because regular snowboard boots are unfortunately not made to last. And with real leather, it becomes a really good boot with all the built-in properties of leather.
Jonte has been thinking about the project for two years and has put at least 40 hours into the shoes and a lot of modifications. So, it won’t be a product in Lundhags’ range for a while! Jonte will probably continue to have completely unique snowboard boots."
