Re: OUTERWEAR
I have powder skirts in my jackets, but only close them when it's deep, or very windy, even if I'm wearing bibs.
Re: OUTERWEAR
I zipped the pow skirt out of my Airblaster Beast jacket when I bought it and it’s been out ever since. I always wear bibs though.
Re: OUTERWEAR
same here, but in addition I also close the powder skirts when it is really cold in general.jclinares wrote: Mon Apr 21, 2025 3:31 pm I have powder skirts in my jackets, but only close them when it's deep, or very windy, even if I'm wearing bibs.
Re: OUTERWEAR
I close the "snow skirt" every time, if I need to close the jacket, has nothing to do with snow or even wind, just to keep warm air inside, exactly same reason, why I close the jacket in first place.
For decades I had "snow skirt" or adjustable / elasticated hem in all my winter jackets, until Pataganonia Isthmus parka, it is warmer, than my usual winter jackets, but does not work well, as warm escapes from the hem, need bigger ass for that jacket.

Re: OUTERWEAR
I stopped using the powder skirt when I started riding bibs. I use Volcom, but the zip tech makes things fit weird if it’s done up. Symptoms of short legs and long torso.
a bit of taper, a lot of camber
Re: OUTERWEAR
Same. I switched the Patagonia Powslayer Bib (it's kind of a half bib) five seasons ago and haven't looked back. I love it and I've destroyed two of them and they replace them with new ones for mead1105 wrote: Tue Apr 22, 2025 5:19 pm I stopped using the powder skirt when I started riding bibs. Re: OUTERWEAR
No skirt and bibs seems like a much better solution.

I mean, I guess it's cool Patagonia replaces their stuff no questions asked, but I'd prefer they make gear that doesn't need replaced so often in the first place. Everything I've had from them, whether it's outerwear, down jackets, wetsuits, etc, just deteriorates. By contrast I'm on my 4th or 5th season in my 686 Dispatch bibs with no sign of slowing down.

Could this be due to the use of eco-sustainable materials?eleveneightnate wrote: Thu Apr 24, 2025 6:21 am I mean, I guess it's cool Patagonia replaces their stuff no questions asked, but I'd prefer they make gear that doesn't need replaced so often in the first place. I read that this is happening to Arcterix, which has a significant deteriorated appearance, and although it's not losing properties, or so they say, it looks bad..
I've used my AK pants and AK jacket for 15 years and they last and last and last...
C2 & purepop/vans infuse/skate tech/ AK …
there are, no bad snow

Not sure about Arcteryx, but with Patty stuff it's usually the seams that blow out on me.jota wrote: Thu Apr 24, 2025 7:36 am Could this be due to the use of eco-sustainable materials?
