HARDGOODS 25/26
Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
Maybe that's true.
But it was at least 50/50 and as recent as 2021 board models trended directional. Catalog led with those options. They were also leading innovation with volume boards, pow hull, coreless tech, had split options. Had a kidde version of the 420. The team was more freeride. Things were 'surf-influenced'.
Pretty big departure just a couple years later.

At this point, for many reasons, I just want nothing to do with, or to provide any sales to ANY brands owned by the Nidecker Family.

Does look like they completely cut the Asia/Downunder team/market, kind of a big hit, and with that "surf focus" I guess, clashed with Nideckers line.

Are you able to elaborate? It’s only Rome I’m actually interested in as I’ve really liked some of their boards and bindings in the past but now they got scooped up by big N. Aside from production in Dubai, what shittiness are they up to?pow_hnd wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 9:48 am At this point, for many reasons, I just want nothing to do with, or to provide any sales to ANY brands owned by the Nidecker Family.
Generally I try to be mindful of what I buy and keep it on a Mothership/Nobile vibe as globally speaking they are built next door for companies which are legit in my, admittedly idealistic eyes.

Well the Mothership isn't as cute as it looks. Heard how they are treating the workers and not really wanna buy a Capita more than GP87 made board.Kevington wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 1:21 amAre you able to elaborate? You're going to have to spill the beans on this if you want me to believe that workers at the Mothership have worse conditions than those at GP87.unsuspected wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 2:26 amWell the Mothership isn't as cute as it looks. Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
Can you please extrapolate? Other than general c3 hate, which is out there to an extent, this is the singular instance I’ve heard of negative comments about the company’s biz practices. Aside from feelings/side taking about the Jason Brown/Blue fallout from back in the day.unsuspected wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 2:26 amWell the Mothership isn't as cute as it looks. Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
Sometimes but only sometimes I wonder if Nidecker is angel or a demon.
Angel: he supports entrepreneurs who want to create brands and thanks to Nidecker they can manufacture, sell, distribute and open a gap in the market with new ideas, even if it means being under the control of Nidecker… We may like them or not, but without them many brands would not be here...
Demon: if Nidecker acts in the similar way as (giving a musical example of a radio formula business) Stock Aitken and Waterman (or others) choosing pretty faces to put in charge of brands or products that they themselves create with the aim of creating market niches and reaching more customers through image and completely selling themselves to the business… We may like them or not, but without them many brands would not be here...
I've used Meteorite Jones bindings and have been happy with them and have turned my eyes to yes a few times.. except for this I don't have the Nidecker group on my radar (ok, I have a lib but It was before Nidecker bought it) I always go for smaller, more authentic brands whoever knows what that means because in the end I always end up with Big B although EL always makes me turn my head towards capita

Find it hard to believe and not because of any Capita fanboying.
It’s the absolutely crazy EU employee/employer regulations in place which at an operation the size of the Mothership that makes it almost impossible to treat employees like shit without swift and harsh repercussions.
