If the footbed/ramp and straps doesn't work for me, that's really it, fase or not I'm out. The most interesting brands for me went into stepon so might be some loyalty issue there, and even if Salomon could pull it off w/o conflict, I doesn't work with shadowfit I guess.

Was it the heelcup or something else that broke? Cutout for the mechanism seems like a possible weakpoint, at least if it's "welded" back together.

It was bluebird, snowing, hail, freezing temps, 65°, dry snow, slushy, calm wind, and it was windy. There is some torsional flex, but it's not overly abundant. What you've got here is a softer toe that gradually stiffens up through the heel, and you've got this key flex point riiiiiiiiiight here in this extremely specific spot, and that's really where you want to load up or your board will come to a screeching halt. Oh yeah, load pop snap & drive

But the difference isn't that big either, from Fase to regular. Dunno if I'd mind clicking some on the toestrap either, if the whole strap outta the way thing works, and stepping in is ok. Chunky strap could be an issue, but shouldn't be impossible to solve.
the bataleon and rome use their regular binding straps. the 32 and jones have a FASE design toe strap and 32 has an ankle strap from regular jones bindings, while the jones FASE has a new ankle FASE strap. of which the pre-production material was too stiff.

angry snowboarder do a better job talking about this than i could.

Forget everything else we have talked about. Let's even say you and I are in 100% agreement on everything and I think FASE is world changing.

Angry is not someone people on this forum listen to or take any stock in his reviews.
you obviously went off without watching.... avran and TC HAS NOT reviewed FASE as yet. i just included this link, because he is informing his watcher that NDK are still working on improvements with FASE from the feedback nidecker are getting.....before going to mass production.

would be great if TJ reviewed bindings.....but he only rides union.

FASE.

I give it 3-4 years. Now that industry on snows and regional trade shows are done. The reports I’ve heard are not good.
and now back to the real world........i have seen the order numbers 🤯🤯🤯

where the hell did you get a report from that the numbers are not good 🤥 was it from elon musk.🤦🏼‍♂️
such a huge amount of pro’s here that you can see pretty much every day at Brighton/Bird the consumer and retailers here are also solidly locked in on what they ride, cause kids see Sage, JP, Jeremy, Griff, Grenier, etc, etc in person and then emulate them and buy what they ride
interesting you didn't include pat fava as a brighton local, but just pro's from 15-30 years ago.

makes me wonder if you even ride at brighton....or even snowboard anymore.

just saying.....

Yup, it’s like having a conversation with a brick wall. Some people just wish to remain asleep and no amount of prodding is going to rise them from their slumber. These are the same people that ultimately are surprised upon waking, while everyone around them collectively throw their hands up saying, “I told you so”.

What is the message? Idk that I'm following.

Is it that the binding innovation that this guy created, which is being backed by one of the largest core snowboard companies, and adopted by some of the larger brands, has a a first gen product that isn't fully perfected, and therefore he should admit it's whole concept is crap and give up on it?

Aside from whoevers appeal to authority is credited, I suspect the longevity of the product will be less dependent on its first gen product and more on if the concept is differentiated and provides benefits where the upside is bigger than the criticisms.

Maybe I'm missing the nature of the disagreement tho.

No disagreements. When the dude signed up said he wanted to hear feedback/thoughts/opinions.

Then when he gets feedback he gets super butt hurt and defensive.

He's a low key DOC and I just booted him.
