BINDINGS
Re: BINDINGS
I was at 32 day up at Brighton yesterday and got to try stepping in/out of the FASE bindings. It was much much quicker that traditional bindings, even the speed of the heel straps. I think my next pair will be the FASE Katana's. One of my buddies rides step ons and was complaining that he had to bend over to tighten the heel strap, I had to remind him that he has to bend over to release his burton bindings too.

Re: BINDINGS
Isn't the Atlas Pro highback very stiff?. Looks like the spare part Atlas highback is the same as the Pro.casjcade wrote: Sat Mar 01, 2025 3:15 amI got the Ultlas Pro. This is what happens when my ADD kicks in.
Re: BINDINGS
It might be that the spare part is softer and just looks like the Pro, but it was not stiffer than Strata. I have both spare highbacks.unsuspected wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 12:46 pmIsn't the Atlas Pro highback very stiff?. Re: BINDINGS
the current Atlas Pro is the same as the previous gen Atlas highback, looks like they just made the current Atlas high back a touch softer. most of the stiffness of the Pro comes from the FC footbed.
Re: BINDINGS
@coleslawed is correct, the highback is the same but the Pro has a carbon footbed. Going just from memory I think some of the Atlas Pro versions, depending on the year, have stiffer ankle straps too. It's all personal preference, but I like the regular Atlas better. The Pro is definitely a little more responsive, but for me the carbon underfooot made it feel kinda harsh in the chop.

Re: BINDINGS
I rode the 32 FASE bindings at a Demo at Baker some weeks ago. It's hard to compare, since I don't know what the binding model is supposed to be, but I guess something quite middle of the road all-mountain binding. Anyway, my overall impression was quite neutral. Although, I haven't felt the need for fast access bindings, I didn't see much drawbacks using them. So I can see them gaining popularity. I am not gonna run out and change all my binding to FASE, but next time when shopping for new bindings I will consider FASE options as well. But of course, everything else has to mach my needs, so this would not be a major criteria.RadDad801 wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 8:28 am I was at 32 day up at Brighton yesterday and got to try stepping in/out of the FASE bindings. Aaadn, since I'm almost settled on adding Nitro Phantoms (most likely plus) to my quiver, I guess won't be buying FASE any time soon.

Re: BINDINGS
What are the differences in the Ultra and Falcor baseplate? Beside what I can see at Union. Before l'ii make a Falcor/Atlas instead of Ultra/Strata combo.

Re: BINDINGS
they used to be a denser foam on the Falcor, but the new "halo" design lets the whole frame flex, vs just the foam flexing on the Ultra. + canting on the Falcor.
