Tried those new union boots, super low profile and nice heel hold as the lower boa tightens a bit more higher than most models.

599€ :’)

Any good photos? Not loving the shape of them from what I’ve seen.

So.. My Adidas Tactical Lexicon Adv boots are deteriorating. Tongue stitching broke and snow/water is finding its way inside the boot.

So what mid/stiff boot to buy for narrow ankle and E width foot? 😅

I went from adidas to Photon wides. The wides are the same heel pocket as the non-wides but with a thinner liner in the forefoot. They’re not quite as good a fit as adidas, but nothing has been. The new Salomon Dialogues are nice and wide up front, but the heel pocket was too big and sloppy for me. I couldn’t get a good heel lock even sizing down.

Really dig Adidas shape and feel (got 2 backup sets ready to go) but durability was/is crap, at least for Tactical line. I kill them in about ~60 days, maybe 80-90 if I refresh the liner. My first pair in Tacticals I warrantied because of liner delamination; Lexicon I had to sew and stitch up a tear in the tongue;second Tacticals I had to restitch some deteriorated stitching, then developed a fat crease in the forefoot.

Curious where you end up. Nidecker Altai fit seemed okay in store, probably touch narrow and they have foam outsoles. Ride felt like a maybe. I'm curious if the new Vans Infuse last will work for me, haven't tried them on in years.

I've only ever run one other pair of boots to end of life, but got ~150 days out of 2011 Burton Imperials. I probably should have retired them earlier but the shells were in good shape and I probably could have bought some more time with replacement liners.

First day on the Nidecker Kita Hybrid. Retired my Ride Fuse which finally gave up the ghost after at least 100 days and multiple tongue reattachment surgeries.
The Kita has the same set up: wrap liner, no internal harness, side boa that pulls the tongue in, trad laces.

I had a bad experience with the Nidecker Rift exploding on me after 20 days but I successfully warrantied them. The Kita were half price so I thought I’d give them a try. I’ve never had a boot fit my foot so well. Not even close. The asymmetrical tongue is just so good. It’s a mystery to me why anyone would make a boot with the tongue running straight down the middle as I’ve never seen a foot that is not highest on the inside. I removed some chunky BOA cable hardware from inside the liner as it was pressing hard on my ankles.

They are stiff, like 9/10 but if they break in to be 7/10 or so I’ll be very happy. Looks like they will be out of the line next year and be replaced by some mad thing with a binding strap round the shin. A victim of the BOA wars. I might grab a back up pair while they still exist.

My Burton Biolight pants from the mid nineties worked great today too.
