i'd say a good bit stiffer than the Ultra's, esp into the highbackseleveneightnate wrote: Wed Jan 15, 2025 12:11 pmHow much stiffer are they than the Ultras? I haven't ridden the Falcors since the first gens a long time ago.coleslawed wrote: Tue Jan 14, 2025 7:19 pm side note, I demoed the new Falcor today. didn’t notice a huge difference from my previous gen ones i was riding for most of the other demos.

Sick, love the Strata highback. It's the perfect flex and shape.

Re: BINDINGS
on the Nidecker binding front, apparently they're pushing the Fase bindings as a more performance oriented version of the Supermatic.
didn't get a chance to try either out, as I prefer to use my own bindings when trying boards, and ran out of time to double back and try those.

@jclinares posted his own screen recording here, with the close-up angle. I was wondering why I couldn't see the heel ladder, and looks like it may have snapped or disconnected and is still in the buckle

Good eye. Definitely looks that way. I don't see a ladder anywhere.Spenser wrote: Wed Jan 15, 2025 1:43 pm @jclinares posted his own screen recording here, with the close-up angle. Re: BINDINGS
This convinced me to trial a set of Falcors. If pow_hnd likes them after shitting on Union for the past decade, they're at least worth a look.pow_hnd wrote: Wed Jan 15, 2025 12:59 pm These new "Baldface" Unions rule. So fucking locked in, so comfortable. I'm ordering two more sets today.
I've been on NOWs or Jones almost exclusively for about 10 years. I still like them, but I've had a bunch of minor to major problems pop up with them. I shattered a sample basetray (to be fair this was a pre-production Hanger 3.0 design flaw they fixed in the consumer run) and had to one foot down ~2000 ft of vert at Mammoth. I've fractured a couple carbon kingpins. Had a heel ratchet pop loose on me at 40+ mph. Had to replace at least a half dozen ratchets that went floppy. And they've improved the straps and ratchets but they're still behind the industry leaders.
All that stuff happened over 200+ days on snow, their customer service was always dope (Jeremy Jones interrupted an intenal meeting to help me try to find replacement parts at the Nidecker office once), and as long-established I'm harder on gear than most... but I'd be happy to find similar performance and comfort with fewer annoyances.

Size 10 DC.
For the record though, every other brand of bindings I've ridden for the past 25 years, I've never needed to check my screws. Like, ever.

Re: BINDINGS
12 days on these charger pro's and this is the second time I've had to tighten them on the skin track. I've never had to do it on my solid union bindings. Or my hithchikers(which have had less days on them btw). I might just add more loctite when I get back to Ontario.
