You could get something like a Brynje Super Thermo as inner layer, then a regular merino wool shirt as midlayer. Very hot and very thin.
The Mesh base layer has me interested. Anybody else use these?

You can't be serious. Unless you're talking about wearing it to some sort of German sex club?
I thought the same thing. Turns out they are warmer in the lab. Not sure how they are in the real world.

Say what you like about Quiksilver but they have by far the best hood/collar design as far as snowboard adjacent brands go. I’m hoping for a nice colour of this jacket for next season. They also have a nice baggy but not stupid gore pant with a drawstring hem.

Yeah, it looks good! Their Highline stuff was pretty well made, now it's called the Pro line I guess? They don't allow promo codes on it otherwise I'd have snagged one to try already.

A plain, lightly insulated jacket with a loose fit and only basic waterproofing for under $300… where to start? Have you looked? That describes a lot of products.

My quik Travis Rice stretch jacket is going on its 5th season. No failures. Probably the most functional jacket I've ever had.

Rocketmann wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 1:04 pm Does anybody make a solid jacket that is 2l, loose fit, minimal logos, ideally no logos. some insulation ideally about 60-80g. good waterproofing of at least 10,000mm, 10,000g that is under $300 without any stretch ideally?
Thank you
I just tried on the Volcom 2836 jacket. Black, loose, 2 hand pockets, 20K/20K, 60g insulation, cheap, don't look like I might be summitting Everest or skiing back to my Tesla. Might get one for next season.
