A Thread For Goggles
Re: A Thread For Goggles
So some of you may know I'm a bit of a spreadsheet nerd… and I got annoyed with not having a clear, glanceable chart of all the lens colors on offer from Smith (in my case for Squad Mags)
So I made this by clicking through every spare lens on the smith site.
Just missing base tints for a few, wondering if any of you fellas can fill those in?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... QKwc0/edit
Missing base tints:
ChromaPop Everyday Green Mirror
ChromaPop Storm Rose Flash
ChromaPop Storm Blue Sensor Mirror
ChromaPop Photochromic Rose Flash
Happy to flesh this out with Anon lenses too if anyone wants to help. And yeah, shared resource. If anyone finds this useful use it, and I may publish it somewhere too.

We should publish here. @pow_hnd Can we create pages for content such as this or other?spurist wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 7:08 am So some of you may know I'm a bit of a spreadsheet nerd… and I got annoyed with not having a clear, glanceable chart of all the lens colors on offer from Smith (in my case for Squad Mags)

Happy to do that too, though I know phpbb doesn't have that kind of functionality though (I just checked).
We could use a special forum to "publish posts as pages" but it's kinda hacky.
If ezloungin peeps want to collaborate on creating and maintaining some sort of information database (as well as maybe some editorial content), then that's a conversation to be had.

Could always use Google Sheets and then have a sticky with links to them?
Re: A Thread For Goggles
Notion would be a fucking sick, easy to consume way to display this information.spurist wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 8:23 amHappy to do that too, though I know phpbb doesn't have that kind of functionality though (I just checked).

Also on the Smith Squad XL train. Anyone have a spare sun lens they might want to let go of? I've got the Sun Black if someone wants to trade. Spare lenses might be one of the biggest grifts in the industry. I might grab a new goggle just for the lens if I can find a pair on sale.
Re: A Thread For Goggles
DanDan that's what I've always done, grab goggles when they're on sale and you can get two lenses for the price of one basically, and backup frames.DanDan wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 10:35 am Also on the Smith Squad XL train. It looks like Evo has a decent selection left in their outlet. Trying to remember from earlier EZ and you're a fellow Canuck right? Watch that Evo ships with UPS apparently so can have wack brokerage fees.
Re: A Thread For Goggles
Squad Mags arrived.
Veeery comfortable.
I knew about the latches before buying but I'm so used to pulling the lens off of the Anon M2 and M4 with one hand as I run up the gondola stairs, I'm a little pissed I went this way (instead of trying the new M4S).
Ah well. Hoping ChromaPop really are as good as everyone says.

Re: A Thread For Goggles
nice, thanks @Yeti
What you are calling "strong rose / maroon" is what Smith apparently just calls "brown." I prefer "maroon" …
I got both the ChromaPop Storm Rose Flash & ChromaPop Storm Blue Sensor Mirror and either the shop mixed something up or these two lenses are basically indistinguishable one from the other.
