I like to paint my boards so I don't care much about graphics.Spenser wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 5:42 pm I'm in the plain/subdued camp as well. I don't care if they look almost the same every year, or whatever. As far as I'm concerned, every single one of my boards for the rest of my life could have a blank topsheet & black base.
Do you guys WANT graphics? Totally get it if so, I'm just asking. I personally don't. Occasionally there's something I'm stoked on, but it's usually pretty simple.

I like the US look too, and I like a lot the new Salomon Sick Stick and the entire HPS lineKevington wrote: Tue Dec 24, 2024 12:34 amI totally agree. US has my favourite (non) graphics at the moment. It’s the halfway house between stark minimalism and actual graphics I can’t handle. I am a particular case though, I will admit.eleveneightnate wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 6:10 pm I like subdued graphics for sure. But if it’s gonna be subdued, I’d rather it just be full on US/Korua style instead of this lava lamp amoeba rainbow splooge that has been popular lately.
I’m actually stoked to see the Passport go back to a more mono colored base next year instead of the rainbow one from this season, I’ve been wanting one again since they added a 157w.

Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
There are cool graphics that are iconic and mark eras like those of my supermodel.
I have a repair room/workshop where I have all my boards on display. Sometimes I sit on the couch and look at them. Each graphic takes me back to a time and fills me with memories. That's great

Lava lamp haha, actually lol'd. That's hella accurate @eleveneightnate .
And loll ngl, surprised at that @michaelangelo. But yeah, I like how they placed it on the Landscape decks.

Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
Merry Christmas everyone,
I was hoping to gather some advice for my next plank please and thank you in advance
I currently ride a Burton antler camber 154.5 with a pair of malavitas and almighty boots, I have upgraded my boots to the SLX and I love em,
I used to ride the original cartels but they were getting old so I sold them and got malavitas before they did away with them
I intend to stick with my malavitas and SLX combo, although I am eyeing a new board. I am between getting a custom X or a regular custom.
I do love the flexibility of my antler but I do think the stiffness of a custom X would be helpful.
I am also between whether to get a 154 or a 156 (I am 6 ft and 165 pounds)
I ride all mountain but basically what I do now is a lot of groomers, trees, moguls, and a lot of natural jumps on the mountain, I don’t exactly stray from the park at all I just don’t feel like hucking my 30s body at metal and ice sheet landings anymore, I would say I am a good rider and could handle all terrain, I could ride down any double diamond with moguls no problem but I just want to have fun all mountain wise. I typically ride Mount snow, okemo, Stratton, and Stowe. Although at least 5 days out west every year at BC/VAIL/BRECK/Copper/Park City etc
So do you guys suggest going from an antler 154.5 to custom or custom x, 154 or 156?
Thank you for any insight

Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
What exactly is it about your antler that you want to change? For example, why do you think a stiffer board might be an improvement? We need some context as to why you're wanting to make a change from your current board.
Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
Honestly, there is absolutely nothing I’d change about it. It is the perfect board for me after all the boards I’ve ridden in my life. I was even going to buy a brand new one on eBay someone had but the price was outrageous (more than a full price custom x) and I figured I’d try something newSpenser wrote: Wed Dec 25, 2024 12:31 am What exactly is it about your antler that you want to change? I just want to keep riding how I do, I charge hard at times, I like to ride switch half of the time I ride, i like to go fast sometimes, i love the icey moguls at hunter mountain, I like to throw clean 180s off lips and bumps in all directions fs/bs/switch, tripod down the blacks for fun, i like to throw in some shifties and methods, off piste in the alps occasionally when i get the opportunity, grabs of all variant basically, I just want to keep having fun. I know that is quite vague but it does it all for me, but sometimes I think to myself that if I had a stiffer board my riding would be better in terms of charging hard as I do like speed and a lot of precision at times, when I’m 100% on that is, but I do enjoy coasting at times as well
As for 154 or 156 I worry going up from 154.5 to 156 will be ‘too much board’ as I’m at the perfect spot right now coming from a 150 true twin prior to the antler which was an absolute love
It is mostly semantics on why I’d want a stiffer board from what I read online, but my board is reaching its end of life sooner than later unfortunately as the base is really thinning through at this point that metal is quite visible
It is incredibly tempting to buy a new antler online but it is difficult to think of spending $850 on an 8 year old board (brand new) when a brand new top of the line is less than fhat plus it would sort of put the board to rest and mark an era of my riding and switch to a ‘new era’ so to speak
I am also not getting any younger so I do want to make this next board last another 8 years at least ideally and be my true daily driver, and being with age the knees go a lot, I do worry the custom x will be too demanding on the body, and I wonder if the basic custom has similarities to the antler as it seems to be in a similar scope but I can’t exactly say if they’re almost identical in performance specs
I don’t like change much and get comfortable with what I love

Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
So can we generally establish that you like a twinnish camber board that rips all over the mountain?
I'm wondering if your antler has simply seen enough use to make it feel a bit "lesser" than you want. Like, a fresh antler could be exactly what you need. If that's the case, what's most similar these days...
Is there anything else you can think of? Could it be more stabile at high speed? Or maybe easier at slow speed? Is it damp enough? Does it feel catchy? Are you only looking at Burton? Spew anything that comes to mind at all

Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
Yep, I love that it is a twin flex but also an all mountain directional so it rides better in powder versus a true twin. This board has at least 250+ days of riding on it already and it still gives me the performance it gave me day 1 in my eyes if not more, it’s just like I said the base is really getting thin at this point unfortunately after all the love it has seen everywhere and the additional base grinds which probably didn’t do it any extra favors, nothing I’d change as to what I seek from it as a ride, maybe 5% of the time I ride I wish it had more ‘umph’ to itSpenser wrote: Wed Dec 25, 2024 1:02 am So can we generally establish that you like a twinnish camber board that rips all over the mountain?

Like I said I wanted to buy the exact one but it was difficult for me to spend $850 for an 8 year old board when a brand new custom could be scored for half of that with the right coupons
Seeing your point it seems the custom is a good decision as my wife says the same, although my heart yearns for another antler but I also know I should let it rest and have it’s time to shine as a sole entity on the wall one day and let another board have its reign
Although maybe I should be a fool and spend $850 for the same board even though I paid 400 for it brand new..
I want to stick with Burton as I love the channel with EST bindings system

Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
Depending just how picky you are (and I say that as a person who is relatively picky with boards), I don't think it's going to be difficult to find a good replacement. Are you able to demo? Especially in VT, I wouldn't imagine it's too hard to hop on a custom or some other twinnish Burton
