The boot thread
Re: The 2022 boot thread
I have a backlog of Adidas boots in my basement. One set of Tactical Advs that probably has another 30-40 days left, one brand new set of Tactical Lexicon, one barely used Acerra I picked up cheap off Marketplace.
I wish I could find endemic brand boots that fit me, but no go. Ride Lasso almost feels like it could work, but I decided to stick with Adidas for now. The Fuse could be my jam, but never seen one on a shelf to try on.

Hey coleslawed, tell me a bit more about the Areth Rins? They caught my eye on sale as a pair of softer boots. I've got a narrower heel, kinda low volume foot, but average width and arch height. At the price I'm tempted to try them out. Between the harness, boa, and trad lacing it sounds like it's pretty adjustable for heel hold/instep pressure? Any insight is appreciated!coleslawed wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 9:30 am picked up the Deeluxe Areth Rin's last year, which treat me pretty well. Only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the removable liner harness, wish it was stitched in. but these fit my feet pretty perfectly.
did come up on a pair of Ion Leathers I'm gonna give a try for something more supportive, standard Ion's were a no-go, but I'm hoping the leather is more forgiving around the forefoot.

Stacked Adidas Tacticals and Lexicons. Pretty much set for at least the next 6-8 years so they have time to invent a boot with such a small footprint per mondo that still can be downsized up to 1 size.

Hmm no.. I run a strap through the highback to make it better for sidehilling on the way up, but sometimes I run without highbacks if there’s just powder. The flex panel doesn’t bother me much. I never run forward lean either, so maybe that’s why.kimchi wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 7:52 amDo you do with this your Aspect by any chance? Always felt these felt a little loosely goosy on the descent because I can’t secure the rear, but this feels like it might work.casjcade wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 3:13 pm Running the newest Salomon Dialogue as a safe bet for everything besides splitting. Trying out a Thirtytwo Bode, and have both Burton Tourist and K2 Aspect. Tourist works well with the Sparks, so a nice option when travelling with the quiver option. Aspect is nice for longer hikes off the board.

Re: The 2022 boot thread
Since Adidas are pulling out and they are my Cinderella boots.
I have some crazy feet but they are the only one that fits straight out of the box with no boot fitting needed.
So bought 2 pairs of Acerras, my favorite boot of all time at the end of last season.
Then found a guy selling sample sales Adidas for cheap so had to buy 2 more Acerras, 1 pair of Tactical Lexicon and Superstars plus 2 pairs of Responsive ones.
Now got boots for a lifetime. Boost sole rulz!

Such a broken record on all iterations of EL, but I wish I had more options to try on. So limited locally.
Still doing really well in ions with a couple small tweaks, but really want to try vans, ride, and k2. It would be great to have something with a beefier sole (not EST) and a lower MSRP. I like a supportive boot with dual zone lacing, but there’s no reason it should have to be ~$550 retail. They’re still $$ even at cost, so I just swoop poshmark or snowboard trader deals whenever they appear.

Ditched last year’s Longo Infuse in favour of the Verse Range. Easily the best out-of-box fit I’ve ever experienced, as they immediately give my giant calves the room they’ve been missing. The Burton Tourist was close, but didn’t give me the support I was looking for. If these work out on snow, I’ll be grabbing a pair every season.

a bit of taper, a lot of camber
Re: The 2022 boot thread
I don't like all black boots, so on a whim I quick taped & lightly sprayed my gently used ions last night to look like the grey/black limiteds I've been riding a few years, which are finally starting to fall apart. I like that it's stupid. Maybe it'll create a cool distressed look over time, or a shitty mess.

Re: The 2022 boot thread
I remember I got a deal on the spring break lashed long ago, the ugly Easter egg looking ones.
1.) thirtytwo boots are overall garbage
2.) i spray painted them brown and holy shit did they get uglier and uglier

That sounds horrible. I think grey on black is a much better starting point, but IDGAF anyway
