Went to the Easy rider demo today and Lars was there with the Stranda fleet it was fun chatting with him. You can see his enthusiasm for riding and the brand all around great guy.
I rode both the 54 and 57 Biru and wow what a board, the edge hold and spring out of a turn was great. Not really sure how to fully describe the ride but it was smooth/damp while still being a bit lively all at once.
It’s been a few years but reminded me a little of the 2018 US orbit I had(for a short period ) but quicker edge to edge transition assuming that’s from the tighter sidecut.
Overall could see myself picking one of these up next season.

Re: Stranda Snowboards
I spent a couple more (short) days on the Cheater 170 and HOLY SHIT. All I know is that I need to get more comfortable with longer boards outside of carving because having this kind of effective edge is just amazing. People are skidding all over in the slick early season mostly man-made snow and I'm digging trenches. I was riding middle inserts ( I assume that's reference) at +33/+18, which is the most forward stance I've ever ridden, and it was just magic. I still don't see how the hell everyone drags ass on toe-sides in mellow terrain... not quite there yet, but this is the board that's going to help me get there.
I have the Shorty 164 that I picked up from Spenser and need to spend some more time on it. I think that the softer nose won't really bother me because I'm lighter, but we'll have to see. If I fold it over I'm definitely out as that is the first thing that sours me on a board.

Nice! What size boots are you? I feel like the sizing of the Biru takes me out of the running as I'm in a 8.5 at 155lbs and 5'9". I'm not a fan of volume shifts so I'd want the 54 or 57 and they are 270 and 275 respectively and that's just too wide for an all-mountain ride for me.Canuck wrote: Sun Dec 08, 2024 7:14 pm Went to the Easy rider demo today and Lars was there with the Stranda fleet it was fun chatting with him. I am size 10 at 175lb 5"11. It would be tough to decide for me which one as they both felt great. I think if it was a 1 board quiver the 57 would be the way to go and just adding to the other decks I would run the 54.

I rode Spenser's Shorty 164 on the few groomers that we have open here in Park City. I weight quite a bit less than him (155lbs) and I found it to ride so smoothly and effortlessly for being so much bigger than I normally ride (154 to 157 range). I'll have to see if I can handle this big beast in the trees and how it feels when things get a little choppier in the afternoon, but I really enjoyed it.
I remember reading somewhere that it carved as well as the Cheater... that is a stupid comment. It carves really well, but nothing like the cheater.
Utah is about the shittiest place out west to be right now, but I'm still getting out for some morning groomers here and there.
