I got some amazing pow turns on my Hometown Hero split today and now I really want to demo the solid version.
i love my split as well, would love to try a solid. seems to be as popular as the custom is for the pro team these days
HTH really is such a good board. Perfect daily driver - does everything well enough and is so much fun that my other 'generalist' boards rarely see any action these days (obviously still have my real quiver boards for very specific things).

some people are psyched about the high fidelity, straight chutter was too soft compared to the leader board
I have not really heard that complaint. Yes, the Leader Board was even stiffer but the SC had plenty of grunt - more than enough for serious steep & deep adventures.

I've got a 159 straight chuter and I've got mixed feelings about it. I also have an OG 159 cheetah and I feel like they are similar, other than the SC being much lighter. I've only had the cheetah in real steep and deep a few times and you can tell that is what it was made for and I feel like the chuter is the same animal. Maybe it's the setback highpoint in the camber/stance. Wondering if anyone else feels the same about it.
I'm in the midwest so I've definitely gravitated towards the boards made for low angle pow, not that we've gotten much in the last bunch of years. I've been stoked on any B boards that have been designed by the Japanese dude that they work with. Moonbuggy, Forager, Skipjack, all slay in not as steep pow and just seem to be more fun although maybe not the best for straight lining chutes.
Mostly agree with that. SC needs steeps and speed to come alive. Then it is great, otherwise it can be plankish and lifeless (especially for a B board).

I briefly had a Stellar but holy shit was it floppy past the front foot. Also too skinny for most. Was a sick board though.. blue/green with the skid plate.. with a hole drilled in the nose lol
My OG cheetah 59 is floppy in the nose. I imagine a longer one would be really bad. Maybe they have fixed that though. I remember my Landlord 63 was a bit floppy as well. Could have been a symptom of the earlier family tree boards.
B played around a lot with the nose stiffness for the Cheetah. Part of the problem was that people misunderstood the board - many folks considered it pow deck when it really was meant to be a big mountain gun. B had to soften up the nose in order to improve the float at slower speeds and in lower angle terrain.
