Anyone tried/ridden the Nitro Skylab? Is supposed to be little wider model.
Liking the boa for heel hold but not one boa for tightening the rest of the whole boot.

Nitros aren't that narrow to begin with. The ones I've tried, I needed to pull the tongue all the way up before tightening, and using the plastic shield thingy to avoid the tongue folding, like with Deeluxe. This made it kinda loose for heelhold, but not crushing instep. Nice liners and soles.

pretty sure Nitro just uses a standard dual BOA setup, upper and lower. the internal liner lacing isn’t BOA.

Not on the Skylab boot which isn't that good for my feet. Like having the lower lose and the top tighter.
Might order a pair just to try them on.

The articulating shell is such a great feature for the longevity of a shell, but limits the boot’s response. I think B might actually address this with how they end up replacing the Tuff Cuff.

It shouldn't limit the response though if the backstay and the tongue are up to spec. Or conversely, not having the articulation means the responsiveness reduces as the boot shell breaks in/breaks down.

That has not been my experience.

All good. I made that comment based on my experience with the SLX. Kept its flex consistent for much longer than other boots I had ridden up until that point, but I preferred a more responsive boot like the Driver X. When I eventually noodled out my Drivers and briefly went back to my SLXs, the latter still gave enough response. I’ve since switched to riding different iterations of the Vans Verse.

On a whim I ordered a pair of the new Deeluxe "Spark Fusion https://deeluxe.com/products/s/."
Just wearing them around the home, they feel comfy enough (which means diddly, I know hah).

The marketing says they reduced footprint, which I can only say that these look "normal/reasonable" compared to the XV's I've seen on others' feet (moon boots hello!) and the Vans Verse I got last year (for which I had to reconfigure all my bindings to accommodate).

They feel really … thin though. The liners are so soft that they pull out when I try to take my foot out.
The insole is of course trash. Literally like a 2mm piece of felt which I struggled for 5 minutes to get back in it was so soft (yeah yeah sumthin' sumthin' yo mama…).

Their speed-lacing thing feels like it'll yank out any second. The BOA doesn't really do anything noticeable I mean I crank it and I can't feel what it is doing?

Anyways, I am torn because they feel nice. Once locked down (which feels like it takes very little effort, remarkably, not much yank on the speed lace, maybe a full turn on the BOA), they feel nice 'n stiff, but I dunno man will they turn to jello in a month?

Sounds like my kinda boot. Hate super stiff and I love soft liners as they always fit me the best.
