HARDGOODS 25/26
Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
I tried some flow many many moons ago. Didn't like the feel. It was like simultaneously too stiff and too loose. Like yur mom.
Shit like this is why I keep coming back to EL like a junkie looking for his next fix.

Your alarm goes off and you rub your sleepy eyes. This song comes on the radio. Every morning. From now to eternity.

Step-On happened in between, but I do still think that there is some truth to this 5 year old article:Gearpatrol Snowboard Boots History (2019)jota wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 3:52 pm@C.Fuzzy This could be the dystopian future (Although it was a beautiful past ) (and Bauer and Nerva were cool)
But far from joking, if the hard boot came back, I wouldn't be surprised to see some posi posi carvers or eurocarvers using them again looking for turns or some vitelly turns
These days when I do resort riding it is still in a DriverX from a few years ago, which I originally bought for splitboarding. Funnily enough it replaced a Deeluxe boot, which was super comfy, but got way too soft and crappy after only 20-30 days on it.
Being old and Euro, for splitboarding I am running hardboots (Dalbello Quantum something, TLT6 before that). They are not as comfortable as the Driver, but they are really not bad either. I really do think that if one of the "big" snowboard companies really wanted to do it, they could definitely release comfortable, lightweight and well performing hardboots.
I did try the Disruptive and while that is a bit more comfortable than other hardboots on the way down, it is not worth the noticeable extra weight per boot for me personally. But that boot comes from what, a small french company run by like 2 dudes and it is based on a skiboot from an Italian Maker that was completely unknown to me...

What is Temu?eleveneightnate wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 10:06 amIs Happy Mondays the Temu Oasis, or is Oasis the Temu Happy Mondays?
I love the Happy Mondays and hate Oasis. I’m prepared to try Step-ons but it could go either way.

I remember seeing these in a shop and thinking it was interesting. I’m not the market for this but it makes sense for those who want to carve but not be in a fully rigid boot.
I still think the Ride Fuse is a hint of what is possible for soft boots if you fuse (no pun intended) hard and soft parts to achieve and maintain a specific flex profile in different areas of a boot.
Looks like we are in for a period of innovation and change in bindings over the next few years. Hopefully boots get some attention at some point as they are still kind of basic.

Whoa, they announced this a lot earlier than I thought they would.

Union finally did it. They solved their crappy strap, ladder, and ratchet problem!

What's the point if you still need to strap in?
Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
Does absolutely nothing for me. Assuming it’s more entry-level oriented?
